Reluctant Allies

Another question from the new guy. Is it possible to play the reluctant allies variant with only owning one box set of the game? We are trying to find a way to make the game more interesting for 3 or 4 people than the standard epic(consulting as a team takes much longer and the same guy normally makes the decision each turn). Also, anyone have any 3 player house rules? Thanks for all the responses to my questions so far, we have really been enjoying this game.

For the two original Reluctant Allies (RA) published scenarios, with only one base set's units I believe you'd only be short one Spider. You'd also be short two lore goblets, two War Council sheets and several card holders. As long as two players are fine holding their cards, and laying out their War Council and Lore tokens in front of them, then you can play RA with one base set.
If you use the Call to Arms (CtA) deployment method instead of a pre-made scenario, you may end up using a few more Levy Tokens, but that's no big deal in my book. RA+CtA uses 12 deployment cards, while Epic+CtA uses 10 deployment cards, so the difference is 8-10 more units with RA+CtA.

Any idea what the postage to the UK would be??
What do DOW need as evidence of purchase? The web access codes off the adventure booklets, or actual receipts?

For anyone who has played reluctant allies before; is it fun? I have Epic, but I've only ever played BL with two players. It seems to me that it would just get frustrating to only be able to move half the units on your side.
