Welcome to the Brigadier Bar.
Take your boots off and take a seat in one of those comfortable chairs. After such a long fight you may put your feet at the table
The cute looking personnel is currently serving whiskey on the rocks and a sigar, tipped in it, ofcourse. The Police are playing on the background 'So lonely'.
Lights are slightly dimmed.
I still don't know how I got here, I was walking on a french beach, amidst artillery fire and grenades, saw some of my fellows killed in action, and suddenly I ended up here. Place of peace and quietness.

Nygaard might have more expert games, but I think he did not spread theé out as well over all the fronts.
You have at least 5 wins on each side of each front in expert against real players (if I may believe what others posted about your expert record).
I think that might be it.

Nygaard is missing victories on both eastern and mediterranean front against real players by this theory. He did not reach 5 per side per front on those two fronts.

I will play expert as much as possible the next few days too ... I need any front except for western. So Phread, invite me when you see me online.
hdescavernes: I don't think it only counts those scenarios you play after becoming colonel, so you might want to get a head start whenever you get a chance.

Another indication: Helcat got promoted the game after winning an expert game.
But also: he got promoted on playing one of the new official scenarios ... so maybe you need to have played those as well.

Yeah - most of my Expert games have come from me testing my own maps over and over again.
And by the way, Helcat has been a great help in polishing many of my maps - so I think he's a very worthy first customer in the Brigadier Bar...

If I may ask, what is your record as far as designing scenarios? Have you designed one for every front? Or does the promotion appear to be based on wins?

My sentiments exactly. I thought we worked as a community in the forums -- like on the quest to Colonel.
Otherwise, it's just a competition, and there is enough fighting on the battlefield...

Gentlemen - I will share my hypothesis when I have tested it.
I have often stated that I am not a fan of providing too much information about promotions - as it makes it too easy for others to gain promotion without the complete journey.
I have given two big hints - it isn't 5x2x4 SFTF wins and if you rexamine Brigadier Helcat's SFTF wins as Colonel you will see another potential promotion trigger.
Geoff I have frequently thanked you for your hints about Colonel promotion and say you deserved to be the 1st Colonel because of your efforts.

I can confirm that 5x2x4 SFTF is not (the sole) requirement for General.
I don't know what to do next, so I suppose I'll just keep having fun playing expert and standard and designing scenarios.

Maps? Hmm, I have not created much myself and they certainly have not received 3 star ratings, although I am fiddeling with them. I think it has do do with the gameplay. I would like to see Quit2's suggestion, but agree with him that it is more fun if he keeps it to himself to try to prove it first.

I would also like to investigate Helcats road from Colonel to Brigadier, but I can't seem to find his promotion to Colonel in his Officer Career.
It was somewhere around the 28th of september last year I gather from the Colonel thread but I don't know which battle exactly. And since he played 34 battles that day I would like to narrow it down.
Does anybody know?

If you know the date it's even less than a minute normally, but when I checked earlier I just could not find that elusive Colonels bar in the officer career.
Today I saw it just fine, so either it was a bug (unlikely) or I overlooked the first time. (More likely but I'll never admit it. )

We do need another Brigadier to compare with Helcats records. Until that happens we are scrambling about in the dark. I hope it doesnt hinge of designing expert games ( though I feel it does ) Hows the analysis going Phread? or is it still a big secret?

Sirs,
I believe my analysis does shed more light on what is required to be promoted.
Please forgive me if I want to test my hypothesis before revealing it.
The testing is taking time (and that is another hint for you all).
However until there is another Brigadier I cannot confirm the validity of my hypothesis.
I can confirm (another hint) that it wasn't Brigadier Helcat's results in standard scenarios that gained him his promotion as I have a better record - even if I do say so myself.
Analyse Brigadier Helcat's results as Colonel and consider the comments that have been posted.
If you are into analysis compare Quit2's and Nygaard's results as Colonel.
That comparison may or may not help too.
