Does anyone have an idea what this equipment pack will cost?
I'll have to start setting money aside for it.

One of the suppliers had a pre-order price of a bit over $40 - so I am guessing the retail price is between $45-50.

Looks great! A mine roller with fastines on the back, and Polish Cavalry! Looking forward to getting this. I'm trying to convince my wife to get me this for my birthday in August!

Cool, they do look good. Wish there were more pictures to look at.

That thing on the front of the hobart looks like it has rollers underneath it. What is that attachment supposed to be? At first I thought it was the bullshorn plow but seeing the rollers makes me second guess. Anybody know?

Here's what Antoine said a while back:

Quote:

The Hobart's Funnies accessories can be used to clear minefields, cross rivers, ignore trenches, beaches, wire or marshes, blow up bunkers with 290 mm shells, etc.

What is that contraption though? I've searched for pictures of the hobart's funnies trying to identify this thing and I don't see anything that this resembles. The criss-cross pattern on top sort of resembles the bullshorn plow, but not the rollers underneath.

Here are some links I posted to BGG with my initial guesses and images of the actual machines:

On the backs of the tanks are the fascines for filling trenches:

The rollers toward the center of the picture looked to me at first like the crab chains in action:

but is probably actually a bobbin:

I'm not sure what the contraption is for, but if you look through the big picture you might be able to figure it out through a process of elimination! Smile

Is there anywhere we can see each type of new piece up close?
What I think look like German 88's, to me look alot like Jap art.
front row 6th figure in and what is that to it's right, 7th figure in? This is looking at the picture from the left side.
Thanks.

I thought they looked like japanese artillery as well at first. The 88 was used in many different configurations, but this sculpt looks a lot like the 88 in this picture.

The next figure I think is a nebelwerfer, seen on the left in this picture.

I don't know of any close-up images of the sculpts.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same inlay as the original box. Two areas for troops (maybe Infantry in one side and Armor in the other side) and a place for all the cards.

Using the same mold for the plastic inlay and for the box size would make production much easier! Personally, I always get a tackle box to organize my things anyway... Very Happy

Looking great ! ! ! Very Happy

Although i question the necessity off some unit types:
"Alot off those figures are only eye candy and/or are already in the game. We use badges to identify them.
When 2 parties use these new 'gray' figures we will have to identify them anyways with badges i gess !" Rolling Eyes

I can understand French inf, but why not give them there own color then ?

Italian arty ? i wonder if this isnt INF figs and why not gibe them there own color ? and 12 figs off arty, hmmm, gessing we could get some special new rules for It Arty, ... very curious.

Finnish ski troops = eye candy and since they are not used alot, i wonder why we need figures here ?

I would not have included mortars and snipers, we can easily identify them.
How about AT inf figures ?

The funnies can be used in several ways i gess, also in other scenarios. Clearing all kinds off obstacles ! Cool

The landingcrafts are eye candy, but lets not forget Memoir is 'a child for D-Day', thats where it all started, only hope we can put 4 fig on !

In general, this pack looks like an 'eye candy' pack to me, but i can grasp this, since we should not forget for MEMOIR 44, it all started as a tribute to D-Day !

The second good thought i get is that there is plenty off room to come up with small 'eye candy' extra packs in the near future ! ! !
(Thinking about diffrent tank types etc. ... As we also see in other games on the market)

Shurely cant wait to get my hands on this pack and use all this in new scenarios and possibilities, adding hours off extra fun to Memoir gameplay !

They were released in the Mediterranean Theater expansion. This release of the mortars and machine guns completes the set of SWA figures.

Wow, 406 figures is a lot! What size are those, though...

I'm sure you realize this, but the "185 figures - largest set of figures ever!" was probably meant as a comparison to all of the other Memoir '44 expansions, of which there are lots! Rolling Eyes

yes, I know!

BattleLore got sold because of the 'high cost of plastic figures'.

For the longest time, I saw that the main differences between the 2 were that that BattleLore had a myriad of variations on the unit abilities and few variations of terrain and that M44 was just the opposite. Now, I'm not so sure.

Good thing I don't have to choose! I enjoy both.

Many of us find it very disappointing that the minis are all generic gray. Nation specific minis should have been cast in their national colors. The poll over BGG is running about 85% in favor of national colors.

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/812757/poll-generic-vs-n ational-colors

And no, I do not want to paint them myself. For what this supplement costs, I shouldn't have to.

There will always be something to nit-pick about.

Sorry, but 86% of respondants to the poll over on BGG disagree that this is "nitpicking".

So how about an official responce from DoW.

Why aren't the national units in national colors?

Because this would have required each of these figures to have its own separate mould, which simply wasn't an option, cost-wise.

So you are saying that you had to use one single giant mold to make all the figures, instead of making a few separate molds for the national and generic minis that would have allowed DoW to cast the minis in their national colors?

Sounds a bit odd to be using one giant mold for casting the minis all at once.

I think most of us would have been willing to pay a little more to get the national units cast in their correct colors.

I would've gladly paid some extra dollars to get the French Inf, Italian Art, Finnish Troops and Polish Cav in national colors. Oh well hopefully an Italian Army pack is in the works and will be done right (like the 3 previous Army packs)

As for the mold, thought DoW would've already had a mold done for the supply trucks, Tiger tanks, Jeeps and halftracks since they were already done in the battle maps.

So also some new rules perhaps?? Or what do I forget here??

Jungle fighters, Veteran Star(maybe), Junkers JU 88(Maybe), Carpet Bombing(Maybe), all from the CB2.

Probably a couple of cards for the Hobart accessories.

Like all the new "stuff", but I already got a lot of TOI figures, MGs, Mortars, Trucks, Halftracks etc.

So maybe should get Breakthrough and Winter Wars next, and get more cards and rules for all the stuff already collected.

Then maybe get Equipment Pack to round it out with snipers, landing craft, engineer stuff etc.

EXCELLENT! Soon be playing full depth battle on larger board with all the stuff including the airplanes from Airpack and lots of new tactical options.

Then, one day, all of it will be on Memoir 44 Online. Very Happy

I highly recommend both. Winters Wars adds the winter combat cards deck, which I like a lot, and I LOVE the Breakthrough format. I prefer it to the base game, actually. Really like the scale and depth of the board. Makes the game feel more epic without the added layers of management in the Overlord format.

I noticed that there is a late-war mortar card in that picture - at first I was disappointed as it seemed to be that some of the included cards would just be re-prints of already existing cards. Then I noticed that this is an updated version of the card. No rules have changed, but there is a subtle difference that clarifies an important rule.
