I have TtR 1.0(33) obtainers from the Mac App Store (Lion). I purchased the 1910 map pack, and saw my app store credit decrease by $0.99. However, those maps are not available to me?!?!?!? I tried restarting the game just in case that was the issue. Still no maps. I am rather upset that I have not received the things I paid for. How can this be remedied?

As should been stated on the web site and in the email, you need to go ONLINE inside Ticket to ride to get the expansion maps.

You don't need to play online, just get to the lobby to get the expansion maps.

Thanks for the response cab, but this does not work. I have gone to the station, visited the restaurant ("online games"), and been logged in. I perused games being set up as well as looking at what players were players online. (I thought I had done this before, but just did it now to be sure.)

All games showing 1910 variants have the "not allowed" symbol (red circle with white bar). Upon leaving the restaurant and going back to the main "Play" screen, I still cannot play the 1910 maps.

Any other ideas? I'd really like to try out different variants, including perhaps the Europe and/or switzerland maps, but I'm gun-shy after this miserable experience.

(Update w/more info) I have also visited the online lobby through the web interface in case that is what you meant. I was still never able to access my maps.

I was able to get a refund from Apple for the undelivered goods. Maybe I'll try purchasing a map from the app again as I'm really interested in exploring the variants to the game, but I'll probably hold off until there's an update since not only are others having problems with in-app purchases, there is some very odd behavior with the online engine that makes me think this version was not quite ready for full release on the mac platform.

Sorry for your issues. You might want to use the contact us link I list below for DoW. Obviously I have a Windows machine and know very little about Macs. And obviously Macs just got the TTR online system in the last few months so there could be some issues with it.

And that way you get to contact a knowledgeable DoW person (usually the programming group) and they might find an issue they are not aware of and thus get it fixed.

And like you mentioned as well, there is the 3rd party involved (Apple Store) and there might be another issue with them. But sure be nice to isolate where the issue is.

Hi player1040300,

Some other customers had issues regarding in-app purchases but none of them were actually charged when the transaction failed.

Could you please give us more details about the issue?
1. When you clicked on the buy button, did you see the confirmation dialog box indicating the price of the item to purchase?
2. If so, did you see any error dialog? When everything goes fine, the item is immediately unlocked after purchase. In your case, the bundle USA 1910 should have been replaced by 3 distinct unlocked items (one for each game variant) ready to play.

Also could you give us your configuration (mac model, Mac OS version)?

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the delay in answering. Here are the answers to your questions:
1) Yes. When I clicked on the "Buy" button, the confirmation did appear with the price. I was charged the price that was confirmed. That end of the transaction went flawlessly. Unfortunately the maps didn't unlock.

2) As I mentioned in #1, there were no indications of any errors. I know that's a bummer to hear as a developer since it doesn't help you debug.

I am running Mac OSX 10.7.4 (though it might have been 10.7.3 when this happened) on a 2011 MacBook Pro. I have the 2 GHz i7 chip with 4GB of RAM.


After not seeing anyone else have problems, I decided to take the plunge and try buying the maps again. This time everything looked exactly like it did the first time, but they unlocked immediately. My best guess is that there was some sort of synchronization error between the App Store and whatever DOW servers hand out authorization codes. <shrug>
