Hi I was one of the stewards for the final day and can confirm that the guys did in deed stay awake and broke the record.
It still needs to be verified by Guinness but everything looks OK in the paperwork and other supporting documentation.
Off the back of watching I bought a copy of Underground and looking forward to playing it with my usual gaming group.

As one of the players in this extended session of Small World (we played 40 games back to back using Small World, SW: underground and SW: Tunnels) I want to give a huge thanks to Mark Kaufmann, Eric Hautemont and the rest of the DoW crew that supported us in this venture and donated a hefty chunk of money to the charity we were supporting (Children's Hospice Association Scotland).
Not only that, but DoW also pledged to donate several copies of their games to the hospices for the use by the kids staying there and their families.
We were all given a great boost early Friday morning, when Mr Kaufmann called us from the Meet the Founders convention to tell us they'd been watching our live feed from the record attempt, and to wish us luck.
Again, many thanks to DoW for their support.

PS. As a testament to the replayability of Small World, one of the guys who played for the 54+ hours decided to issue a challenge to the supporting crew around the record attempt, where they could play him this past Sunday, only about 36 hours after the record attempt was over. unfortunately, I was unavailable, or I would have joined him.
