Actually he did learn a few things as he's a friend of mine from elementary school (I am lucky to still be in contact with 4 of them), and we were having an audioconference
We most certainly did NOT have time to cover much though

Yes, you are blessed to still have friends from early years. Glad you were able to communicate. I would feel terrible if I killed off somebody and was unable to communicate with them. Hope you are still friends.

Intense battle at Toulon, 6-5 ending score, win for my opponent, but I had a shot at victory too.
My opponent rolled 74 dice ! 31 turns, battle ended with the axis besieged, and a BeL almost turned the tide.
check it out

A great game I just played with Henry Pelham on Halfaya
The battle
Very intense game, after getting the first two kill Henry evened the score real quick, and after that it was tooth for tooth until the end
Highly strategic as much as tactical play
Rematch pending

This didn't happen on M-Online, but it was too big a turnaround not to report here.
The scenario was "Airdrop Over Rethymno," from the new Crete campaign. I was Axis, playing against a strong opponent. (His name has been omitted to protect the innocent.)
The Allies start the battle with one objective, and they quickly took a big early lead, killing my forward center infantry and moving an infantry into a town to claim another objective. Then, on their third turn, the Brits Counter-Attacked my Assault Right, killed two infantries, and scored a triple hit against another. Suddenly, I was trailing, 0-5, with a 1-figure infantry next to three enemy units.
Fortunately, I had just drawn Air Power, and the 1-figure British armor had just overrun next to two weakened infantries. My air strike eliminated the tank and one infantry, and reduced the other infantry to a single figure. That surviving infantry went after my 1-fig's jugular, but rolled 3 misses. With a newly-drawn Probe Right, I advanced a well-stocked infantry onto the hill to kill the British 1-fig, and advanced my own 1-fig into the town. The following turn, when one of my infantries moved into the open town on my left, the towns were tied 2-2, so the Allies' town medal went away, and the game was tied 4-4.
The British airfield infantry had moved into the woods near Hill B, and had been reduced to 2 figures. Even so, it and one unit from Hill B moved over to attack one of my full-strength PGs. They scored 2 hits. With a Probe Right, my 2-fig came up next to the British 2-fig and my 1-fig advanced from the town to the airfield for a medal. My infantry then eliminated the British unit. Thanks to a couple of timely strokes of luck, I had come back from trailing 0-5.75, and won it 6-4.
8-turns, 6-4 medals, 15-20 figures. I wish I had a logfile.

A notable battle of mine that could be called The Great Escape.
A battle at Red Barricades Factory - 12/04/2011 - as Axis, 47 turns.
I thought I was done for, but a late recovery saw me home 10-8.
An epic battle.

Watch out for that particular tanks unit moving on "my" axis left side, on the map At the gates of Moscow.
This unit of tanks deserves a cross of iron : it destroyed FIVE russian units alone (2 damaged infantries, two tank units and one artillery unit), and damaged two russian infantries before being destroyed !
-> I wish there was an award called "cross of iron" : "you destroyed 4 (5 ?) units with the same german unit" !
(and the equivalent for other nations...)
A not-so-good battle, however :
- opponent didn't "chat",
- he left after his defeat,
- I really did have a bad hand (there are turns where I have ONLY right cards),
- I had really bad dice for the 2-3 first turns (rewind and watch out 1st turn : 6 dice on infantry, not even a single loss or even a flag !),
- my opponent did have good cards and good dice during his 5-6 first turns (I was glad it changed afterwards !).

FIRST ASSAULT (OMAHA BEACH)
I played as Axis and had the following good cards:
Direct From Headquarters
Armor Assault (the Axis have no armor)
(1)Assault-All-center
(1)Assault-All-right
Medics & Mechanics (never played)
Infantry Assault (The game winner)
All my remaining cards were either Probe or Recon-1.
My opponent had:
Firefight
Direct From Headquarters
Counter-Attack
Their Finest Hour
Their Finest Hour (yes, he had it twice)
(2) Attack-3-left
(1) Attack-3-right
(1) Assault-All-right
(3) Recon-in-Force / 1-1-1
General Advance / 2-2-2
(1) Probe-2-center
Needless to say, the Allies dominated the board and were killing me at all points, especially on their right flank. Then with the score tied at 5-5 with my death imminent on the next turn, I attacked (Infantry Assault) his armor on the center beach that could not retreat, as he had just blocked it by moving his infantry on the prior turn, and the FLAGS won the day. Phew!!!!!

Yes, that was close Stevens !
About Omaha, I recently won vs a major with allies, and afterwards, it seemed it was my easiest Omaha with allies.
My strangest Omaha, ever ! .
I (almost) only had flanks cards, and he (almost) only had center cards.
Thus, I was able to destroy both artilleries and several infantry units.

A lots of missing but it just add the favour to this tough fight.
Operation Cobra, 38 turns, nearly 40 mins:

Ok, a harsh fight at "red barricades" : lots of suspense !
Lt Colonel Big_Ed was a nice opponent.
Tovaritch silenttimo
Around half of the game (46 turns), I was not proud : most of my infantries are "wounded", I got one artillery, one tank and one sniper down.
HOWEVER, return game is EVEN MORE interesting !
freundliche (not that much) Silenttimo
51 turns !
During turn 47, I stick back to 9-9...

Red Barricades Factory:
57 turns, 181 total dice, 4 TFH, 3 Barrage. I had to reduce the enemy to 3 units/11 figs, roll 40+ more dice, and could not manage to take any objectives. Great game JJAZ - must have been my toughest opponent ever.

I'm working on winning all standard battles from both sides as Brigadier.
Yesterday I played "1st Armoured to the Rescue."
Game 1 as Axis lasted 3 turns - 2 Axis 1 Allied. 2-0, 2-3, 5-3.
Game 2 as Allies was almost as quick, 4 turns - 2 Axis, 2 Allies. 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 5-2.
In both games I had the Armoured Assault card which my worthy opponent noted is deadly in the desert.
