EP EXPANTION Tue, 13 November 2012 17:57
I HAVE PAINTED SOME MINIATURES OF THE EP EXPANTION:
- WHITE FOR THE FINNIS
- LIGHT GREEN FOR ITALIAN ARTILLERY
- LIGHT BRLUE FOR FRANCE TROOPS
- MATT GREY FOR ALL GERMAN TOOLS (TIGERS, SCREEMINGMEEMIS, TANK DESTROIER)
- MATT GREEN FOR ALLIED MOBILE ARTILLERY

I AM NOT SURE HOW TO PAINT HOBART'S FUNNIES? I'D LIKE TO PAINT THEM ONE COLOR LIKE THE OTHER STUFFES. DO THEY BELONG TO THE ENGLISH SIDE OR TO OTHER NATIONS? I'M THINKING TO PAINT THEM IN SAND COLOR LIKE THE ENGLISH TOOPS.

ALL I CAN SEE ON THE FORUM IS REALLY WELL DONE BUT...I AM A LITTLE LAZY AND I PAINT THE FIGURES OF ONE COLOR.

Hello,

we are painting the minis in one single color as well. Is the fastest and easiest way. And it's not about laziness at all, it is about the lack of skills.

So a spray of a nice colour will be perfect for us.

Cheers!

And since Crusaders were used a lot in North Africa, in a desert camo:

The Hobart funnies tanks are Churchills, not Crusaders. Churchills were used in North Africa but not in large numbers till early '43.

My bad...was thinking Churchills and typed Crusaders...must have been thinking of the tanks that come with the Mediterranean Pack.

How embarrassing Embarassed

Umm, understandable considering the Brits named many of their tanks starting with the letter "C".

Convenanter
Crusader
Cavalier
Challenger
Centaur
Cromwell
Comet
Centurion
Churchill

The Brits certainly seemed to have more of a flair for coming up with special weapons to use in WW II. There is no doubt that the "Funnies" played a key role during D-Day.

I believe the Americans only employed the DD tanks and some tanks with bulldozer blades. But many of their DD tanks sank off Omaha as they were launched too far from shore and also faced up to 6 ft waves.

The full adaption by American forces of the funnies and their proper use during D-Day would have made for a easier time for them and they could have used all the help they could get on Omaha.
