Equal Sail Speed - Who fires first? Sun, 20 January 2013 15:08
Hi Everyone,

Quick question: If 2 pirates are about to battle and they both have equal sail speed, who fires first?

I don't have the rules in front of me (I'll check when I have time) but it runs in my mind that this situation is covered in the rule book...though I'm going on memory only so I could be wrong! Razz Very Happy

THank you sir!

I think we are going to play again today. As hard as I try I have always been terrible at reading the rules so it is quite possible that I have missed it!

Yup. You were right. IT says in the rule book that we roll for it, which is what we were doing all along! Yay!

Nice work, and I'm glad you were able to find the answer!! Isn't it great when the rules are logical in a way that you can sort of predict and figure it out on your own?! Sounds like you're having a good time.

Welcome to the forums and let us all know if you come across other questions. I think you'll find that this is a very supportive community! Smile

The Pirate's Cove forum isn't as active as some of the other games (though people are just as friendly here). There's just not as many questions or things to talk about, but if you get any of Days of Wonder's other games like Small World, Ticket to Ride, or my favorite, Memoir '44, those forums are much more active.

Have fun with Pirate's Cove and if you haven't seen any of their other games you'll need to check them out because they are just as much fun (in their own way) and have just as good quality bits! Cool

I have to second that statement. DOW has quite a few really great games with great components. Our family loves almost all the big games, like Mystery of the Abbey, Ticket to Ride, Mystery Express, Pirate's Cove, Shadows over Camelot and even Cleopatra. But Memoir '44 is my favorite. The community is a great resource.
