Rzhev bug Sat, 09 July 2011 16:40
Playing "Rzhev" against player baldchelton (who left at some point and was replaced by a bot), my Soviet tank attacked an enemy infantry unit on my baseline. The unit retreated onto the frozen River, rolled a star and was eliminated. The game then froze and I could not make an overrun nor anything else. Had to leave and abort the game.

P.S. I am also not able to submit a bug report. I filled out the report form, but any time I press "Send Message", I only read: "Fehler: Verbindung unterbrochen. Die Verbindung zum Server wurde zurückgesetzt, während die Seite geladen wurde." (= "Error: Connection interrupted. The connection to the server was reset while the page was being loaded.")

And another "Rzhev" issue: Rzhev is the first scenario in which the Soviet player begins while using Commissar rules. If you place your first card under chip, the game will start normally. But if you pull your first card into the center of the map, it will be placed under the chip automatically ... and then the game gets stuck, i.e. nothing happens and you cannot play the second card. The game will only start after you leave and re-enter the game.

Oh Thanks! ^^

Same problem last night and didn't understand why!

Tried to leave and enter again in the game, but didn't work!

Somebody told me to reinstall the game... what I did, with registry cleaning, installation, and again same problem!

yes. that happened to me twice, and i was able to walk another gamer through it that way too.

it is a bug, but at least it is a fixable bug...as long as we let people know how to fix it...

I have also experienced bugs playing Rzhev.

The first time I played the scenario as the Russians, the "Infantry Assault" card only multiplied in my hand every time I attempted to play it. Re-entering did not fix it. I was not able to submit the bug report (not knowing how). This was before the second update, however.

Today I experienced the same bug that Turboheizer describes in his second post in this thread.

The choice then is to restart the game -- and lose the game log needed to submit the bug report -- or to take the time out to submit the bug report, at which time the bot will have made many moves for my side. I re-entered the game (only losing one turn to the bot) and the game played almost normally the rest of the way.

The only glitch after re-entering was that the "Move Out" card stuttered (repeated itself).

I wonder if these bugs might be limited to players on Macintosh computers.

Finally, it is a bug that the Russian player plays two cards to start? I have seen that both times I played the scenario.

I've gotten stuck on this map as well, but was able to work around the issue by X'ing out and immediately coming back in.

Basically it let me put a card under the Commissar chip, but after that I couldn't play the next card to start my turn. I tried everything, from double clicking, dragging to center of board, and dragging the next one to the chip. After leaving and coming back it worked fine.

I also had one game where the same thing happened to my opponent on the re-match and X'ing out and back in fixed it for him as well.

I'm on pc, played the russian side (and won Smile ).

No issue there.

Your first turn as ally is only to place the card below the dammm commissar.

BTW, i won by taking the left wing and taking pot shot at the two fortified germans down on the right front.

Besides the bug issues mentioned above, the town hex of Noshkino has been replaced by a Supply Tent hex for M44O, probably because the Supply rules have been programmed to work only in connection with this hex. But this means that the Soviet player has the additional disadvantage of lesser protection against armor attacks (-1 instead of -2 dice).

I've seen that frozen lake bug too. I was able to submit the bug report so hopefully that will get cleaned up soon. The only way for us to recover was for both to exit and come back in. And then the infantry unit that had drowned in the lake was suddenly revived and back in his original position. I was still able to attack again, but the zombie dodged my bullets. My kind opponent then spent part of 3 turns trying to drown his man by walking around on the lake. But never did a star appear. Truly a zombie.

I've just experienced the bug where you can't play the second card, after the first one has been dragged to the middle (and then gone automatically under the chip). Unfortunately, I was not aware of such issue or it's solution.

Clorofila (since you are "ignoring" me),

I apologize...I had an unexpected work call come in. I was on my cell as we were finishing up, trying to manage multiple things is not my best skill.

I think you schooled me...right? I should have stayed and given you your props and told you what was going on. I did not mean to be so offensive.

I am sorry for the, what seem to be, very hard feelings. But you are right, I should of told you that I may not be able to stay, so it was not so abrupt.

I sincerely apologize.

Funny, I just noticed this today, (probably because I don't play it much). Presumably if you play face-to-face you should use a town hex. But I think this will help the Soviets get a kill and take the space, if you can get your tanks up there.

This is one scenario where an extra row on their side could help the Soviets. I think a future expansion should be extra rows of hexes to attach to the board on either side (with medal spots for scenarios 7-12 medals), making the board 10x13 or 11x13 for big battles (Eastern or Desert) instead of the current 9x13. Not being immediately backed up to the baseline would help.

Maybe this error is related to the Replay function stopping on the turn when a player loses a unit from the River roll.
