Yeah... and then make a better computer version than colossus.

The problem here being that most fanatics who play titan already have a set and it has less appeal to the non-insane gamer.

Why are people so fond of Titan anyway?

You start with 4 players, and then one gets whacked after 90 minutes by sheer bad luck (rolls of dice), and has to sit around waiting for the other 3 to finish the game 4 hours later.
Well actually, another player will be eliminated ofcourse, but not usually untill at least a few hours later.

I prefer to play a nice game that has all players involved from beginning till the end, and that lasts somehere under 2 hours, so you can play more then one game.

It's more than luck in titan. The real game is adapting to the bad rolls... everyone can win a battle if they roll sixes all over the board, but that's not going to happen usually, will it?

True, the eliminated player will be out some time, that's a small flaw. But Titan is still a great game.

OK, matter of preferences. Smile So Advanced Civilization is out for you, too? ok. Different people will know different games.

If Days of Wonder was to be able to reissue an old Avalon Hill game, I'd suggest Down With the King. All players are in it up to the end (although it does suffer from 'gang up on the leader snydrome'), and it works well as a social game. Plus I'd love to see DoW's take on the cards - they'd probably be very pretty.

The AH game that would fit right into DoW's publishing niche would be Reiner Knizia's _Titan: The Arena_. Redone with very nice cards and stones for the betting and maybe some special kill markers and owner markers so that a few more components could be offered as part of a Small Box game.

Actually, it is already in schedule to be reprinted in a updated version. The new version is going to be called Colossal Arena, and is done by http://www.fantasyflightgames.com

The little that is know is that it is going to be the original game with some updated rules, and also contain new monsters with new powers and optional rules. Two of the new monsters have been revealed as Colossus and Gorgon, and the Colossus power is also sneak-previewed. Some of the new art is shown to, but sadly personally I find it inferior to the original art. Look att FFG's rants page to see it (its long, so scroll or search on it)

There is quite a bit about Fantasy Flight's "Colossal Arena" the a remake of "Titan: The Arena" which is not the same game as "Titan" from AH. You can find it here: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/rants.html includes bitmaps of several cards.

yes, these are two totally different games. The rights to Titan are still somewhere with Avalon Hill (or possibly MMP).

Yes, I mistook the topic for meaning Titan: The Arena. Titan is an older game, which has been out of print for a long time. It may perhaps be reissued by AH itself, they are putting out some games now, and has promised some reissues.
