Equipment Expansion?

Any thoughts as to what will be in the equipment expansion. Eric has Jeeps and Mortars posted on one of his pages..... who knows?

Based on the bomber in the same set of pictures, I would say there will be bombers too!  I can't wait to see what that expansion looks like.
Do you think they will have to update all of the scenarios to include the new equipment like they updated for the Air Pack?

I was kind of anticipating Mech Arty, Eng (mortars could signify them I guess), Sniper units, Mech inf (signified by jeeps) etc..... but it will probably be something else. Needless to say I am excited about it.
Relative to British exp.,I was thinking for a while that they may release a complete game as the British and Italian expansion (new base game two armies, board etc....), but based on all that I have heard lately it will be more along the lines of the Pacific and East Front expansions.

Sniper units! That's a cool idea! It might not happen if the molds would be too expensive. I use my 1/72 troops for the Snipers and it works really well. I like the idea though.

Eric did an interview with Aldie - can be downloaded from BGG.
He said that we're getting an equipment expansion and a Brit expansion sometime this year... well, iirc he said in the first 6 months of this yeaar... lol

The "when" is what everyone is wondering these days, but what's more interesting to me is the "what"!!
I'm curious what the British expansion will have in it. New units, new scenarios and new rules are a given...but will Itallians be included like some people think? Will there be new terrain tiles (I can't imagine what terrain we're missing at this point)? Will there be another British-specific Airplane included? Will the scenarios be set in North Africa, Italy, Burma?
With the Equipment expansion, how big will it be? How much will the new exquipment change the tactics of the game? Will scenarios have to be revised to include them? Will they all be 'neutral' units that any nation can use?
None of these can really be answered (and I'm not really looking for answers), but I am looking forward to finding out all of these answers when the expansions are released!

Nothing written that I've seen. And it's a long audio interview about all sorts of things. But he does talk about some of the stuff in the works for M44. It's worth taking the time to listen to if you're curious about what's coming.

We played the Brits at Gen Con Indy this year for the tournament game on Thursday, though we had to sub American units for the Brits. We were sworn to secrecy on "how they work." As always, you can count on the mechanics being original and well-balanced. That I can tell you! I WISH I could say more, but that's what I get for being an honest chap, to use British parlance.

I asked Richard that question (I couldn't resist!), but they really didn't have a firm date. I believe -- and my recollection could be wrong on this -- is that the rulebook is done or near done, at least in the editorial sense. I bet we don't wait long for at least an announcement of some sort. Of course, talk is cheap, especially when I'm doing the talking. You get what you pay for here!
It was a blast, though, seeing Richard again this year at Gen Con. He has an infectious love of the game. And when rules clarifications arise, guess who we ask? It's a good time.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to go to a Convention some time but we don't live anywhere near one.

Now that I have the Brits on pre-order I can return to speculating about this expansion.
Thanks DoW for the Brits!
Since Eric's announcement in an interview about 10 months ago this has not received alot of attention. We see mortars, jeeps and bombers on Eric's page and have a hint from the Bazookas and trucks what it may entail. Does anyone have more info? Is this still a live project?

Several of these pieces were released in recent battle maps (including the most recent Disaster at Dieppe Battle map). So I would not encourage anyone to read anything into this.
As for the pictures that were on my user page, they are photos of Sculpts we commissioned a while back, not actual production figures. So again I wouldn't read much into it.
