I know DoW is most likely done expanding this game but I think It would be cool if there were different kings of catapults that had special effects and when you were required to place a catapult you had to draw one randomly from a bag.

There could be one or two black catapults that when they were draw you would have to add a black sword to the table.

A Red catapult that made it so all knights had to discard one white card or one knight loses one hit point.

A green catapult that required one knight to return to the castle.

And a White catapult that when draw gives all knights one white card and is discarded. It doesn't count towards the catapult limit so it is a sabotaged catapult that helps the knights.

The special catapults would never be added back to the bag and once defeated would just be discarded. Except for the standard gray catapults that would be added back to the bag.

It wouldn't need many components it would probably just be:
1 black catapult
3 Red catapults
2 Green catapults
3 White catapults
and one bag

Let me know what you guys think. I think it could be a fun little expansion that wouldn't cost much to make or to buy.

Interesting idea! It would certainly make people think twice before placing a catapult as their 'evil' action.

Would these effects make it too hard to win the game? There is already a lot of trouble for the knights and these effects would have the potential to kick them when they're down...but if you wanted a challenge this could work! Smile

It could increase the difficulty of the game but I'm always for an increase in difficulty in a cooperative game because once you get the hang of the game it becomes easier and easier to win. But with a traitor running around the game could be crazy but I think it would be a lot of fun.

And it might not be too bad because the white catapults help out the knights and the green ones could be good sometimes and bad sometimes so I think there's a good enough balance

It would certainly spice things up if the game was getting too easy!! Very Happy Along with this expansion there could be a card or two that would allow the players to sabotage a catapult before it is placed, to give players another chance to save their skin if a Deadly Catapult would lose the game for them.

It's a neat expansion idea. Cool

ooh yeah I like that card idea that would be a cool addition to an expansion like this. but then I think there would have to be one or two black cards that added a catapult around Camelot. I would really like to see this game get a least one more expansion even something little like this would be awesome.

actually cancel the black cards that add catapults. I just remembered that once a quest is completed any further black cards that are draw for that quest add a catapult. So we don't need further black cards adding catapults. But I still really like the white card idea that cancels catapults.
