Storing the cargo tiles Wed, 25 May 2011 16:31
Am I right in thinking that once you have popped out the cargo tiles and placed them in the bag, that there is no room to keep them in the box?

They don't fit in the empty slot in the box. I have put the 1st person turn marker and the wild cards in there.

I am a bit disappointed that the bag with the tiles in doesn't fit inside the box, or has anyone found a way of squeezing it in there?

I have been putting it under the tray that holds all of the other pieces. It is not perfect (the box top still bulges a bit), but it is in there. You have to lay it as flat as possible. Hope this helps!

I have been doing the same

if you flatten the bag with the tiles as much as possible and place it under the plastic storage tray it works pretty well

Thanks guys.

I just wish they had designed the box with a specific place for the bag when it has the tiles in it.

I agree completely. It bothers the crap out of me that the box won't close all the way.

I feel the same way, boxes should be designed with at least easy placement of all the pieces. Preferably with some room to spare. (I made new boxes for Small World so it fits in the original box with all expansions for example.)

For Cargo Noir I am still debating wether I should redesign the box. What I did now was cut a "ribbon" of the underside of the tray (just the outside) this so deepest depression rests on the bottom. Now if I put all the pieces in their appropriate place (ships next to coins, primus, cards, turn marker and wildcards under the board pieces.) you can put the bag on top. Yes, you still need to spread the files out in the bag. But of you do this, the lid does not bulge, and you do not have to take the tray out each time you play.

Might work for you too. Smile

I put mine into two sandwich size ziplocks, 3 tiles deep, 6 wide, and 3 tall. Box closes nicely with them and the empty bag on top of the board.

I would rather there were a well UNDER the board for them in the bag.
