Memoir 44 Tackle Box Of Holding Wed, 27 November 2013 22:01
Hi Memoir 44 Generals: Just added an article to my blog detailing a new storage system that my boys and I are using...it works great! If you are looking for a box to hold all of your Memoir 44 stuff add this one to your list of products to review. Wink

5 Star General,

Pricing and link to site to purchase item can be found by selecting either of the sites he provides, he provides a review of the product and pictures, nice reivew and at the end of the review provides a URL link to the site where he purchased the box and price shown there.

Seems reasonably priced and seems to work well.

I would loive to look but every time I link through I see the pic of the tackle box and then it redirects to some portal and I have no idea how to get back to read the actual link. Most frustrating...

Maybe type in Mr. Taber's site directly, www.usandacat.com and at the bottom of the page, tab of KINGBEAST'S LAIR and that takes you to his review, all seem to work for me.

That's just what I was always looking for, thank you very much! Ordered yesterday from an online fishing supplier, delivered today, already packed, everything fine! Alas, I had to pay 100 ¤ for it ... and that was the cheapest continental offer I was able to find.

Can I ask what browser and revision you are using? I want to report the issue but I am having trouble reproducing. If you can give me this detail I will get it fixed...my day job is as a software QA engineer. Wink

Hi Generals: I figured it out! Clear your cache and try again...I was part of a webring that changed their code. I am no longer part of that webring and have removed the offending code. SORRY for the issue.

It holds all figures, cards, tiles and other pieces from the core game and every expansion so far published - just look at John's photos. The only problem would be the boards, as even the standard board is a bit too large for the backside cord pouch. If you plan to take all boards with you, maybe you will need an additonal bag. Apart from that, it is nearly perfect, and I am very grateful to John for pointing it out to us.

Why thanks gents! Smile

He is right...the boards are the only things that I wish it handled better. It sure is neat for handling the rest of the stuff. Smile

A funny story about my blog post...it got picked up by Plano and posted on their main news feed. Too funny. Smile

That is pretty cool... I use the M44 bag, and filled it with plastic boxes, so my maps do fit in the pockets. But for those that didn't get a bag, this is a great idea.

I use an older Plano model, but have to pack the boards, rules and cards in the campaign bag. I prefer the boxes without the "trays" but this newer model is very nice. Pictures of my old tackle box are in my user pages.

FYI. We got a second base set AND Operation Overlord...it fit easily into the box. With the larger Breakthrough boards that we got we decided to start carry all of the boards in the Equipment Pack box with no inserts. Wink

wow, looks like a great storage solution Smile with lots of room.

I have al my memoir expansions in the Campaign bag with an additional "combat bag" (see my user page for pics).
Is your box easy to carry around? I notice my bags transport well, but I can't carry them for 5 miles Smile

I'm not sure, but I think Flamish Havy (Henk, weetjewel) has the same box.

Antoi,

Well, 1st issue, campaign bags, at max, were meant to be carried only 4.99 miles and not 5!! That last tenth of a mile can be a real killer!

2nd, since you are across the pond, convert to km' s, 5 km' s is only 3.1 miles and as you can tell, much less than 5 miles. Otherwise, 5 miles is probably about 4.7, 4.8 miles or so, might save you that last tenth!

3rd, as a ranking officer, delegate that someone carry it for you or go the supply route and have it delivered!!

Lastly, if all else fails, have the game come to you!!

My attempt at humor, hope "The Invasion of Crete" is still safely tucked away in your bags!

Well parking here in Holland can be difficult, with so many people in a small place, so walking to the play area is sometimes difficult. I guess 3 miles should be fine Smile

delegate to someone else can be te solution, but if they lose the match the says it's the bag's fault for carrying around Razz
And since I'm the player with most expansions, most of the time I have to carry the stuff around Smile

and last: Don't worry! Inasion of crete, is safe in a Showcase map in my memoir bag. I'm still very happy with it Smile

these boxes are my storage solution. They hold at least 22 tile hexes in each section (44 usually come with an expansion).

here is the Terrain Pack, Air Pack, Winter Wars box:

They work great for holding the expansions!

They are the large Akro-Mils #05-905 containers I bought from Amazon.com. They are the perfect size for storing your tiles and pieces. I think these are the greatest as you can sort your stuff by expansion, as I have done.
