  D-Day Landings | Supported Armor question Sun, 06 July 2014 12:18
Hello,

re-reading the rules booklet, I can't understand the third image located in the Supported Armor unit

http://i61.tinypic.com/eh0ol4.jpg

What does it mean that 3-1-1 on the last image?

Thanks

The supported armor fights as infantry in close assault, so it gets 3 for attacks on adjacent hexes. When doing a ranged attack it fights as armor, and since the unit is in a town it gets the armor penalty for attacking out of a town -2d. So it's:
3 (infantry close assault) - 1 (armor attacks out of town) - 1 (armor attacks out of town)

Edit: I assumed the unit was in a town, having another look, it looks like forest. Perhaps it's a mistake and it was meant to be town? Or it is town and I can't see clearly

On close inspection it turns out it is indeed a town in this picture.

It is a town. If you look closely enough you can see the corners of the town buildings under the armor units.

Ok, thanks buddies. I also thought the Supported Armor unit was in a forest.

Indeed the unit is in a Town, making bdgza exactly right about why it attacks out at 3, 1, 1. It's hard to see because Supported units cover so much space in a hex...but it's on a town hex. Smile

Yes that unit is in a town hex and battles like Infantry in close combat and normal Armor otherwise. Hence the 3, 1, 1.
