  BlackDogSilver 50cards w/pics & rules Fri, 03 February 2006 05:29
I have several ideas for cards for a POTC add-on (those cards are marked POTC inspired and should be used together).
However, most cards arent now themed from POTC. I know I've taken a few liberties with some of the basic rules. My Rules section is below the card descriptions, and below that are jpegs of almost all my cards. These cards weren't all meant to be used together. Take what you like, leave the rest. When playing, I try to stick as close to the games original card distribution percentages as possible. One thing I have noted while playing with alot of the cards mixed in is that a larger random element in the game increases the fun. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK:

The Pirates Code: Parley!: (volley Card): During any combat this card may be played when it is your turn to fire. All combat ceases and an ACCORD is reached for this turn. All battle cards in play are discarded. All Pirates present at the battle agree to split the booty on the island in a round robin fashion with the player of this card choosing the first item from the treasure card. (ie: if the card had 2fame 3gold 4treasures and 1 tavern card the card player could pick either one gold, one card, one treasure, or one fame point. the next player would pick etc until all items were taken evenly among pirates present)
Card Reads: All combat here ceases. An accord is reached. Devide plunder amonst all ships present at this battle devided as indicated above. Recommend only 1 per deck. POTC inspired.

Target The Hold!: (volley card): Target the hold of one player ship with this volley. If a sucsessful hit is scored, all treasure in the opponents cargo hold is destroyed. Cards now reads: Target opponents cargo hold. If you score a sucessful hit, all opponent's treasure is destroyed. Recommend only 1 per deck. If the HOLD is hit via this card the Elite Purser Card is also destroyed.

Chain Shot!: (volley card): Damage to opponent sails is doubled this volley. You hit opponent sails on rolls of 4,5,or 6. Your cannon take one point of damage. Card now reads: Rolls of 4, 5, or 6 hit the enemy. Any damage done to sails is DOUBLED. Your cannon receive 1 hit of damage. yes slightly over powered in combination with some cards. Recommend 1 or 2 per deck. Grapeshot Attack, Chainshot Attack!, Bomb Attack!, & Ramming Action! cards are mutually exclusive. You may not play any two of these cards in any one volley. (see Combat cards note in rules section).

Barbossa's Monkey (parrot card): functons like a parrot but always attaches to the strongest section of the ship. Imparts a recuperative bonus to the players ship of +1 (like the bonus of the flying dutchman) If the Black Pearl comes into play the monkey abandons the players ship and provides its bonus to the Pearl. Recommend only 1 per deck. POTC inspired.

The Governor's Daughter (fame "SPOILS" card): This card is played face up by your ship. It is worth 3 fame points at the end of the game. If you lose a battle this card is transferred to the victors ship. If the victors ship is a legendary Pirate, this card also transfers to that ship. Anyone defeating a legendary pirate with this card on it takes the card and immediately cashes it in for 5 fame points (you rescued the gov's daughter). When this card comes into play, Captain Jack Sparrow (LP desribed later) is placed at treasure island at the end of the turn. Card now reads: Follows "SPOILS" rules. Play face up. When this card comes into play, place Legendary Pirate Jack Sparrow at Treasure Island. Fame:3 (5 if rescued from a legendary pirate) Recommend only 1 per deck. POTC and Pirate's inspired.

Aztec Gold: (fame "SPOILS" card): This card is also played face up and is worth 2 fame points at the end of the game. This card is is transferred to the winner of any battle this ship is involved with - including legendary pirates. When this card comes into play, Barbossa/The Black Pearl (LP described later) is placed at tavern island at the end of the turn. Card now reads: Follows "SPOILS" rules. Play face up. When this card comes into play, place The Black Pearl at Tavern Island. Your mutiny rolls now fail on a 1 OR a 2. Recommend only 1 per deck. POTC inspired.

Commodore Norrington-HMS Dauntless: (Royal Navy - enhanced)If any of the following cards are in play, this card is used instead of the games regular Royal Navy card:
Captain Jack Sparrow, The Governor's Daughter,
Capt. Barbossa-The Black Pearl
This card always attacks a ship carrying the governors daughter first, next-most cannon. Targets ships weakest section. If this ship captures The Governors Daughter fame card, the fame card is removed from play. There can be only one Norrington in play at any time.Fame5 Hull6 Sail21 Cannon4 4dice against weakest section. POTC inspired.

Captain Barbossa - The Black Pearl: (legendary pirate) This ship is similiar to the Flying Dutchman but slightly stronger. The Pearl will attack any ship carrying Aztec Gold first, The ship with most treasure second. This ship will have +1 recuperative ability and may receive an additional +1 if Barbossa's monkey is onboard for a +2 total. (the monkey adds only the +1 recuperative bonus and is attached to no specific section - it can't be killed on The Black Pearl)
Probably Stats like: 7(9)fame 7+1(+2)hull 25sail 5cannon *always fires at weakest section. (9 fame if Barbossa's monkey is also on board). POTC inspired.

Captain Jack Sparrow: (legendary pirate card)
This ship starts at Treasure Island and moves EASTWARD! yes Eastward (backwards). Will attack any ship with The Governors Daughter first, Aztec Gold Second, Largest Hull Third. (the idea is that Sparrow is going to run into the Black Pearl or Commodore Norrigton and theres going to be blood shed)
Stats: Fame6 Hull5 Sail24 Cannon5 attacks weakest ship section.POTC inspired.

Note:LP vs. LP Battles will occur before any Player/LP Battles.
What ever LP remains will then battle any player ships. Of course it will be healed completely first. SPARROW,BARBOSSA,NORRIGTON will always fight each other first. Haven't worked out all the details yet. I also want to see LP's collect treasure at uncontested islands or at islands where they have been victorious - not much, just one piece or gold or one treasure at each island - and they will bury it at T.I. also so the pot doesn't grow to big. Of course the booty would be split by anyone remaining when the ship sinks. SPOILS cards (see below)go only to the player that shoots the volley that sinks the Legendary Pirate. Of course the players still have to duke it out after the LP goes down (or flee with the spoils).

Letter of Marque: (event card): Play to cancel any combat between you and the Royal Navy (or Norrington) OR use to collect a gold bounty after sinking any legendary pirate. Bounty in gold pieces is equal to LP fame points. Discard the card to collect the bounty as long as you had at least one hit on the LP and it was sunk the same turn you played this card. Recommend only 1 per deck.

The Black Spot: (event card): Player of this card picks one opponent ship. That ship MUST immediatey move to the island where the card player is located as a part of the navigation phase. (this card is similair to the Challange Card - only the opponent must move as he's been summoned). The opponent may cancel this action by sacrificing half of the treasure - currently in his hold - to the player of this card. Card now reads: Player of your choice must move his ship to your location unless he sacrifices half of his onboard treasure (rounded down)to you Also a little overpowered. Add: this card has no effect on ships with zero treasure in their cargo hold. Recommend only 1 per deck.

SAVVY! Elite CrewMember: (8 mastercraft-like cards): These cards attach to a specific section of your ship. It doesn't allow the section to take any more hits (you don't move the slider) but it does add a bonus to the current operating level when you're figuring out things like ship speed, number of dice to throw for crew/cannon, or hull size. These cards are only destroyed if the section they are attached to is crippled. If this card were attached to a section of cannon and the cannon slider was on either of the 3's the cannon would effectively function as 4 cannon. This bonus would not count regarding upgrade costs or when determining which ship an LP would fire on. (s a v v y) POTC and Bethesda Software's SeaDogs PC game inspired. Recommend using either 4 (1 from each section) or all 8 of these cards. Recommend allowing the cards to be stacked for added bonus of both cards on a given section. The following 8 cards are SAVVY cards:
Elite Boatswain (+2 to sails operating level - no max)
Elite Navigator (+2 to sails operating level - no max)
Elite Ship's Cook (+1 to crew operating level, max of 6)
Elite Ship's Surgeon (+1 to crew operating level,maxof 6)
Elite Firstmate (+1 to cannon operating level, max of 6)
Elite Gunner (+1 to cannon operating level, max of 6)
Elite Carpenter (+2 to hull operating level effects hull size and therefore also hold size allowing the number of treasure boxes carried to be increased by 2 - no max).
Elite Purser (+3 to HOLD - only effects the number of treasure boxes (or item cards) that may be carried - no effect on hullsize)
Reminder:DO NOT more the slider for these cards!

Blown Off Course!(event card): Player of your choice rolls 1 die during the navigation phase. He is blown off course and ends up at the island corresponding to the die roll (it could end up being the same island). Recommend only 1 per deck.

Spyglass and Compass(event card): Cancels "Blown Off Course!" OR use to reselect your island after everyone has moved before any combat. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Hurricane! (event card): Play this card to cause ALL SHIPS to roll one die (includes players, legendary pirates, and royal navy). All ships move to the island that corresponds to their die roll. All player ships take 1 sail and 1 hull damage. Non player ships take 2 hull damage. Crippled players go to Pirate's Cove. Nonplayer ship damage does NOT heal before combat this turn. Only one per deck.

Cannibals! (event card): Play this card to stop an opponent from immediately collecting booty from a treasure card. The ships Crew must fight or flee. There is no penalty for fleeing from cannibals. Cannibals has a value of crew 3 and always attack first. The player of this card rolls dice for the cannibals against the opponents crew. If the the cannibals are beaten, the player may collect his booty AND gains 2 fame in addition. OR you may use this card to cancel the effects of someone's "Friendly Natives" card. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Friendly Natives (event card): Play this card when collecting booty from a treasure card OR to counter "Cannibals!" In the first instance roll 1d6. On a 1 catch a Tropical Disease and lose 1 crew & roll again, On a 2,or3 collect an additional 1gold and 1treasure. On a 4 or 5 collect 2gold and 2treasure, On a 6 collect 3gold, 3 treasure, 1fame, and 1 tavern card. If you use this card to counter "Cannibals!" collect 2 fame. If loss of crew cripples your ship, you still collect booty from treasure card. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Lost Treasure of The Inca's (three fame card set, SPOILS SET) These cards are played face up so everyone sees them. Each Card of three cards is worth 1 fame. Anyone who has possession of ALL THREE cards at the end of any turn may discard the set and collect 12 gold, 6 treasure, 3 fame, and 3 tavern cards. I upped the reward for the set to inspire cut-throat behavior from players.
Card 1 Jungle Pyramid
Card 2 Secret Entrance
Card 3 Hidden Vault

All cards have the title "Treasure of the Inca's" and are worth 1 fame indivdually.

East India Trading Company Contact (fame card) This card is worth ZERO fame points by itself. However, at the end of the game, it DOUBLES the value of any of your fame COMMODITY CARDS. (a fame commodity card is any fame card that is a marketable good such as RUM, WINE, WHISKEY, COFFEE, SUGAR, COCOA, etc.) Recommend only 1 per deck.

Jig Fiddle (fame card): This card is worth 2 fame points by itself. However, at the end of the game, it also DOUBLES the fame value of all sea chantey song cards in your hand. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Ramming Action! (volley card): Damage done to enemy hull is MODIFIED this volley. The size of your hull gives a bonus to the damage done. If your hull if size 4or5=no bonus. Size 6or7=+1damage. Size 8or9 +2damage, Size 9or10 +3damage, size 12 +4damage. (New: Size 13 or greater +5damage) Your hull also takes damage based on the size of the enemy ship hull. Use the same numbers from above, find the bonus for the enemy ship hull size and apply that damage to the ship doing the ramming (your ship). (Yea, desperate times call for desperate measures. This card isn't what i had intened it to be as I wanted a hull vs. hull battle, but it became too complicated). Your damage bonus is added to your cannon fire this volley. Damage to you is based ONLY upon the SIZE of the enemy hull BEFORE you damage it. Recommend one per deck. Grapeshot Attack, Chainshot Attack!, Bomb Attack!, & Ramming Action! cards are mutually exclusive. You may not play any two of these cards in any one volley. (see Combat cards note in rules section).

Coffee Beans (generic fame card) 1 fame - commodity. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Rare Spices (generic fame card) 1 fame - commodity. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Sugar Cane (generic fame card) 1 fame - commodity. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Tobacco (generic fame card) 1 fame - commodity. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Cocoa Beans (generic fame card) 1 fame - commodity (i changed this from SILK because I am thinking that SILK wasn't a product in the carribean during the golden age of Pirates). Recommend only 1 per deck.

Cursed Idol! (fame card - SPOILS RULES) -3 fame. While you possess this Idol, when you determine speed for combat (who shoots first) -6 is applied to your speed as long as you are in possession of this card. This card is IMMEDIATELY played face up by your ships mat (like all SPOILS cards). Any ship that cripples your ship immediately gains possession of this acursed card. If you own this card at the end of the game, you loose 3 fame points. Only one per deck.

Noble"Guest"/Ransom! (fame card) 2 fame. This card is worth 2 fame at the end of the game. However, if you wish, you may discard this card (Ransom the Noble) during the upgrade phase at any outer island to immediately collect 4 gold. No reason to keep him on board if your broke! Recommend 1 or 2 per deck.

Leviathan! The White Whale!(event "Sea Creature" card) This is an event that stays on the board until defeated. The person who plays this card plays it just before player vs. player combat. Roll d6 to see where the Leviathan (white whale) surfaces. Attacks only DURING player vs. player phase of combat! Treat it as a ship with Hull:5 Cannon:3 Sail:15 Fame:4. Targets the ship with the largest hull first. Each turn, after player movement, roll d6 to determine the new location the whale surfaces until the Leviathan is defeated. Fights only players. Probably ok to take SPOILS cards from players. Hey, if we can have Ghost Ships, sea monsters gotta be ok! Recommend only 1 per deck.

Giant Squid!(event "Sea Creature" card) same principle as Leviathan with minor differences. It ALWAYS hits one random area on the ship with the largest hull (no die roll necessary)! Roll a d6 and consult below:
1=two sail damage, 2=two crew damage, 3=two cannon damage,
4=two hull damage, 5=parrot killed! 6=2treasure boxes destroyed. Always destroys a Mastercraft on the first hit of the section the card is attached to. The Giant Squid has Hull:6 Cannon:0 Sails:17 Fame:4 Everything else is same as Leviathan above. (damage changed to 2 per hit) One might ask why anyone would play the monster card due to its random nature. I believe that players that are either confident or desperate would play this card. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Skrimshaw Talisman (fame card) This prized artifact protects its owner from any Sea Monster attack as long as its owner ignores the monster. You may still retain this card for fame at games end! 3 fame points. Recommend only 1 per deck.

Crow's Nest (event card) At any time you may discard this card to examine all the tavern cards in any one opponent players hand. (inspired by Lilive's "Longue Vue" via the French Forums)

Desperate Maneuvers (battle card) This card allows you to fire first when you don't have the highest speed - but at a price. At any time during firing order determination you may pay 1 sail or 1 hull damage to your own ship in order to grant you the ability to fire first. You must pay EACH TIME you use this card's ability to permit you to shoot first during this battle! Recommend one per deck. (if, as a result of fighting, you end up having the right to shoot first, you don't need to take damage to shoot first).

Exceptional Quality Tool Set (new ITEM card - see rules section) At Pirates Cove : any of your crippled Hull, Sails, or Cannon sections (not crew) repair up to their base level +2. (basically your ship aquires a New base level - as if you slid the skull and crossbones over two spaces to the right). At Hull, Sail, or Cannon Islands, your total upgrade cost each visit is reduced by 2 gold pieces. Item cards such as this are played to your ships TREASURE HOLD and take up one hull space just like treasure boxes. If your hull is crippled, this card is destroyed. If your HOLD is hit (Target the Hold card, Giant Squid, etc.) this card is destroyed.

Masthead & Gilding (new ITEM card - see rules section) At Pirates Cove your crippled CREW section repairs to base level +2 (new base level as with Tool Set). At Crew Island your first crew is always free when you upgrade. You GET a free crew anytime you visit Tavern Isle. You ship is so flashy it attracts crew! Item cards such as this are played to your ships TREASURE HOLD and take up one hull space just like treasure boxes. If your hull is crippled, this card is destroyed. If your HOLD is hit (Target the Hold card, Giant Squid, etc.) this card is destroyed.

Crystal Skull of Huitzilopochtli (new ITEM card - see rules section) This benevolent artifact increases you chances of a hit under certain conditions. On any volley that ALL of your dice fail to hit, you may reroll one die. (Huit. was the Aztec God of war) I might change this later to "on any volley that ALL of your dice fail to hit, you still do 1 damage." I haven't tested this card out yet. Item cards such as this are played to your ships TREASURE HOLD and take up one hull space just like treasure boxes. If your hull is crippled, this card is destroyed. If your HOLD is hit (Target the Hold card, Giant Squid, etc.) this card is destroyed.

Long Rifles (new ITEM card - see rules section) Once only each battle, your first volley destroys one CREW in addition to any other damage it causes to any ship section. This card works only for player vs. player exchange and may be used after a legendary pirate is defeated on you first player vs. player volley. No matter how many players you shoot a volley at, this card works on only the FIRST volley against the FIRST player you shoot at. Item cards such as this are played to your ships TREASURE HOLD and take up one hull space just like treasure boxes. If your hull is crippled, this card is destroyed. If your HOLD is hit (Target the Hold card, Giant Squid, etc.) this card is destroyed.

False Colors & Disguise (new ITEM card - see rules section) If the Royal Navy is played against you, you may immediately play this ITEM to your ships hold. You may fire one FREE volley BEFORE any combat starts. (If you have better sails than the Navy, you will fire again during the first round of combat before they get to shoot). If you SINK the Royal Navy BEFORE they return fire, you gain 3 fame in addition to the fame points for the Navy. Item cards such as this are played to your ships TREASURE HOLD and take up one hull space just like treasure boxes. If your hull is crippled, this card is destroyed. If your HOLD is hit (Target the Hold card, Giant Squid, etc.) this card is destroyed.

Bomb Attack! (volley card) To play this card you must discard 4 gold pieces. Bomb attack DOUBLES any damage you do this volley. Grapeshot Attack, Chainshot Attack!, Bomb Attack!, & Ramming Action! cards are mutually exclusive. You may not play any two of these cards in any one volley. (see Combat cards note in rules section).

Pirate's Cove Board Game Tribute! (new Item Card rules). This copy of the Pirate's Cove Board game keeps your Crew entertained. But its real benefit is that all of your Tavern Card Purchases are now HALF PRICE! (Obviously other players will want to make you lose this card) Plays to your ship's HOLD and takes up one Hull space. Made this card for fun.

A Short Drop & A Sudden Stop (event card) Play during the upgrade phase on any players one Elite Crew-Savvy Upgrade card (designed above there are 8 versions)and force him to discard that card OR make him move his crew slider to the next lower number of crew (if he has 5 crew the slider would have to be moved to the closest "4 crew position".
The hangman cometh! POTC inspired.

RULES SECTION:
SPOILS RULES: "Spoils" are fame cards that you must play face up. You still may get fame points for them at the end of the game, if you can hold on to them. If your ship is Crippled, the ship that cripples you immediately gains any spoils cards you possess. These cards may have other game altering effects - positive, negative, or indifferent. You may not discard a spoils card and you MUST play it face up to the table the moment you draw it. Recommend a very low frequency of these cards in the tavern deck. Maximum of maybe 2 to 5 per deck. Of course you could design more and randomly place some in the tavern deck.

"SPOILS SETS". A "spoils set" is a group of either 2 or 3 "spoils" cards that are LINKED together in some fashion. These cards will likely be worth 1 fame each but if you posess the complete set during the game, some other special thing or bonus happens. All "spoils cards" are played face up. For example: three seperate pieces of a treasure map that, when all three are collected by one player, make one complete treasure map that gives a large treasure - maybe something like 10 - or some other bonus. Inspired by the golden tablet in "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" and treasure maps in Sid Mier's PIRATES!. 3 card sets may occur very rarely in play. Two card sets might be wiser, but obviously worth much less when collected. Once collected, these cards would probably be discarded as a set to collect whatever bonus or item you would be entitled to. (this would be the only way they could be discarded - in the complete set).

Multi-use Cards You may have noticed that some of the cards have more than one use. Generally they might have the word "OR" in capital letters or have a "/" in the card title. You normally have to pick one or the other use. I find the nice thing about multi use cards is that they offer more options and are therefore more valuable during game play.

A note about the fame cards i designed: I understand that the way the game was packaged that fame cards were really not designed to be "item" cards; that RUM, WHISKEY, and WINE were not really something to be bought and sold, but something you maybe got notority for consuming and giving to the ships crew - a party - just like the Fame song cards. But when i designed these cards I felt the need to add an "item" quality to some of the cards in order to bring more of the genre into the game. AND I wanted to give the cards a bit more use in the game than a simple fame point at the end of the game. Example: Noble"Guest"-Ransom card. The card is a "multi use card". You can simply keep it for game fame at the end of the game OR you can discard it if you happen need the 4 gold badly - it's more versatile. Of course you forfiet the fame points,(the gold is a bit less valuable than the 2 fame points)but the gold may be of use long before the fame points - it's the players decision.

A note about COMBAT cards: The following cards are Mutually Exclusive and may NOT be used on the same turn by the same player. Grapeshot, Chainshot!, Bombs!, Ramming Action! You may play only one of those in any given round. They may be played in conjunction with other combat cards.

Rule Variant: Legendary Pirate's gain treasure:
Legendary Pirates's gain limited treasure and gold as they travel the board. They bury at treasure island if they survive to the end of the turn there. They collect either 1 gold or 1 treasure at each outter island they visit and survive. This is determined by looking at the island's treasure card. They get 1 gold if the gold is higher on the treasure card or they get 1 treasure if the treasure is higher. If it is a tie, the LP gets 1 of each. They carry this booty until they reach Treasure Island. If they survive, they bury at T.I. and their hold is empty again and they start the process over. Legendary Pirates will also carry any SPOILS cards from any ship that they crippled. They will never BURY a SPOILS CARD, it will remain on board until the LP is sunk. The person who sinks the LP will gain any SPOILS cards, (SPOILS CARDS are never devided amongst players, it's all or none).

Item Cards: I designed some fame cards with the idea that some were kindof ships "items". Since then I realized that I wanted to make a new, separate, card class called ITEM CARDS. These cards will have effects in the game that may simulate effects of other cards (combat and event cards), but are more like the Parrot card in the sense that their bonus (or other effect)is constant until the card is destroyed. The fame cards that I designed earlier aren't "attached" to any specific part of a ship, they are just played face up beside your ship mat and they aren't subject to being destroyed, but they can be (must be)stolen anytime your ship is crippled and the other ship is remains uncrippled.

new Item cards will be "attached" to your ships HOLD (where your treasure boxes are placed)and WILL be subject to possible destruction if the HOLD is hit or if your HULL is Crippled. They are not (yet) subject to being "stolen". But, unlike fame cards, each Item Card will take up Hull Space. One Item Card will take up One Hull Space (the space that one Treasure Box would take up) and will be subject to space restrictions and throwing overboard if your hull is damaged causing you to have too much treasure on board. You don't have to play these cards immediately but you can play them at any time to your treasure HOLD. You can even keep them in your hand until the moment you need them and surprize your enemies.

Item cards may be traded/sold/auctioned/given to any other player. At the BEGINNING of any turn, before people select their destinations, any player may express interest in selling any ITEM card currently in his HOLD. Item cards in a ships HOLD may be sold, traded, auctioned, etc. just so long as the transaction is completed prior to anyone revealing their destinations. The butyer may immediately play to his HOLD or retain in his hand. If anyone discards (throws overboard) an ITEM card at an outer island, it remains on the island and becomes part of the islands treasure for the next turn but it goes away with the new treasure card if noone claims it on the following turn. If it would somehow be discarded at one of the innner islands, it is lost for good. If you have to toss anything overboard, you can pick treasure boxes or item cards or both.

More to come,

Thanks Gazougrouik,
I saw Lilive's work. It's tre magnifique!

I've made almost all of my cards but the problem is I don't have a good software program like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw.
I designed all my cards in MS WORD and added clipart and pictures from Movies and used Days of Wonder blank cards and printed my WORD files on top of the blank cards.

They've turned out nice, but Lilive's work is the greatest!

I hope he designs them in English! Like Eric suggested!

gazougrouik,

Unfortunately, I only have MS Word files that i print on top of the blank cards from Days of Wonder. I would be happy to Email the word files. Or I could take photos of my cards. Is there any way to put pictures on the forums?

there are three versions of Lost Treasure of the Inca's. Part 2 reads Secret Entrance and Part 3 reads Hidden Vault. Everything else on the card is the same.

BlackDogSilver's card PICS Sun, 19 February 2006 16:04
I think these are fun cards. By no means do i use all my cards in the same game but i like to throw in things that keep people entertained and surprized! I felt I had to bring this element to a game with Ghost Ships! To understand the Giant Squid you have to see the card rules in the top section of the post.

Very cool! I'd love to try to get these printed and tried out ina game in the future. I just will need to get some really small deck protectors so we can't tell which ones are the real ones and which are the newer ones. Great job!

klz,
the nice thing about having so many extra cards is that noone will know what they are until drawn. Just put a variety of created cards in your deck! Thanks!

This is what I consider my first attempt at card design. I am using Broderbund's "the PRINT SHOP version 21" It was a $50 program. The card has it's flaws but i am learning. Also this is a new class of card called an ITEM CARD. See rules at top of forum.

Another new ITEM card.
