Makeshift Poll Regarding Expansions Thu, 16 August 2007 21:46
I am wondering how many people have or have not bought the expansions.

Since I can not find a true way of making a poll in the forums I created this informal way of getting a feel of how many people bought the add-ons.

I realize that it may be skewed a bit since if people do not buy they may likely not be on the forums either, but that is fine.

I am thinking specifically of the following:

BattleLore: Dwarven Battalion Specialist Pack
Battlelore: Goblin Marauders Specialist Pack
BattleLore: Goblin Skirmishers Specialist Pack
Battlelore: The Hundred Years' War - Crossbows and Polearms

PLEASE, post your responses as 0 of 4, 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, or 4 of 4.

Of course you can say which ones you purchased, but please do it after you list the amount as stated above.

I will start.

4 of 4

But I have only ordered them at my "local" shop. Don't wanna drive there twice so I waited till I could collect them all.

Also have Call to Arms and will also pick up an Epic box.

Do stay with just one base set.

4 of 4, plus CtA and Epic.

I'm going to hold off on buying any more, though. If they have a heroes expansion, I might pick that up, but I already have more miniatures than I know what to do with! Gotta enjoy these for a while before I can justify buying even more!

Heh.

I haven't purchased the GM or 100 yet because they are still listed as pre-orders from my online suppliers. I will purchase them as soon as I can. I also have CtA and Epic.

(6 of 6 really Razz )

What can I say? I liked the game right out of the box. The expansions have just been (sweet!) gravy IMO. I'm no collector, but I plan to get whatever comes out next too (heroes). The only expansion that hasn't excessively delighted me so far is two-player Epic {ducks}. Wink

Simply because out there in Quebec, it's longer and more complicated to get replacement things. So I wait 'till they change the back of cards or announce what they will do about it. Then I'll buy 4 of them, revised, on the same shot. Very Happy

I do have CtA and Epics tough.

EDIT: Bought Goblin Marauders, Hundred Years War, and Epic a couple of days ago.

Just placed an order at Thoughthammer this morning.

So I am now 4 of 4 (or 6 of 6 with the CtA and Epic).

I have two base sets, Call to Arms, Epic, Goblin Skirmishers, and Dwarven Battalion. As soon as the Goblin Marauders, The Hundred Years War, and the Heroes get to my local game store I'll buy those too. I made the decision with the second base set that I was all in - that I'd enjoy the ride for at least through Heroes. Then I'll re-evaluate whether I want to keep going. So far I really like it. I just have a hard time getting people to play it with me enough.

I actually only have two copies of Battlelore. I haven't sent in my registration to get my free Epic yet. I plan to buy all the expansions and get caught up sometime in the fall.

Seems like the expansions are pretty popular with the core crowd here on the forums.

I guess I'm the minority here. I do have Epic and Call to Arms though. I'll probably buy 100 Years War and maybe Goblin Marauders, but $80 for right around 80 new figures is too expensive.

Just so you know, DOW isn't planning on revising the expansions themselves. Sounds like they made the entire print run they planned to make at this point. So you may be waiting a long time just to get the backs on the cards fixed at the retail level.

I'm waiting for the "or announce what they're going to do about it" part, not for a corrected version. If they end up doing nothing for the card backs, I'll eventualy buy it anyways.

I played this game for the first time at GenCon. Ended up purchasing it and two expansions then. After going home, my wife and I played several games and I've subsequently ordered all of the available expansions.

I have to say thanks to Days of Wonder. This game is wonderfully put together, a great value, and plays very well. The support and delivery are awesome. (Got my Earth Elemental in the mail in 3 days.)

Now I've got to get back to painting.

Oh, and hi! First post for me!
