Well this is a good start. I'll have to see more info (especially $$) to get a good take on it. I hope it was split out of the carrying case for timing purposes only.

Looks great and is very exciting. I'm interested in the release date and price of course.
Can we post some of these images and information on other game websites like BoardGameGeek?

If someone from DOW could answer this: Will we need two sets of the air pack for Overlord Scenarios? Just trying to budget those game dollars

Just to be clear: there is no web code for this expansion (we never put a web code in any expansion, and just made an exception once, for the Pacific Theater, to help customers gain access to the M44 Scenario editor).

Hmmm - forty dollars for this "expansion" and no web code. I cannot say as a loyal Memoir '44 fan (2 each of all Mem 44 products expect for the TP) that I am pleased about that.

May I ask why? The webcards serve little purpose for diehard M44 loyalists. If we ever get the online version of the game, then maybe we should complain!

I know there is not that much difference right now. However, I am looking forward to the possibility of the online game.
I also know that some have a "reserve" of web time. I do not have such a luxury (only 3 months remain of my web time). Hence my concern of not getting any more for buying this new (and most expensive expansion to date).

Saw flyer for Air Pack at my FLGS, but for some reason I had the impression that the price was less than $40?
Probably just wishful thinking.
Can anyone provide an estimate on the scale of the planes?

Let me just say that I for one am happy to see DoW releasing an M44 product, and what appears to be a great addition to the system. I'll wait to see the rules for my final verdict, but painted minis are a plus. Looks like all that colorful inspiration from Brummbar has paid off.

The replacement deck is 5 euros (or $5 for those of us in the States) and even though you could just toss the new "Air Sortie" cards in with your old deck, there is now the chance to get a new deck. The "Air Sortie" cards will be turned face up when you get it, so it wouldn't matter that your opponent knows you have it, but I do see a problem with having the 2 new cards in with your old deck...
Imagine you are playing along and both players see that there is a new card coming. When the new card (which everyone knows is the Air Sortie card) is two places away, one of the players can play a recon card and claim the Air Sortie, then draw a new card for their hand. Even though either side could do this (and it would depend on luck for who has a recon card), I plan to get the new deck so I don't have this happen.

That is a very good point and why I've also planned to get a new deck. Too bad DOW won't just give us a whole new deck... I'd pay the extra $5 (or $4.96 ) for the expansion just to avoid paying postage for a deck (or two) of cards.

Good point CptJack but then you would have the people who would complain that DoW is making them pay an extra $5 to get a deck that they don't need. It's a fine line.
My deck is so old...it is actually starting to grow some kind of mold on it ...might be time to retire it. A new deck with the Air Sortie cards will be a welcome addition in our house!

Huh, not sure what you mean folks. The whole reason we are releasing the 62 cards deck (60 card + the 2 Air Sortie) at the same time as the Air pack is so that you won't have to pay shipping twice (assuming you order both of these at once)...
so there is no double shipping fees. As for not including the complete deck in the Air pack itself, it's because not everyone will want it and because the airpack will be full enough as it is, as you will soon discover...

I kind of like having Eric, our guardian angle (informant), as part of the thread! We get actual answers so quickly!! Good thinking with the whole combining shipping deal! Will that be true just for the fist few months or does that deal apply to any time we buy more than one item at once?

Obviously, not everyone purchases their products directly from DoW and I know that DoW does not object to this at all! Some support local retailers, so that they remain in business, while others may purchase from online stores. By not packaging the full deck with the expansion, the only ones who would save postage would be those who purchase from DoW... unless I've completely misunderstood (a distinct possibility), and the new full decks will be available from local and online retailers, also.
Again, if only available through DoW, those who do not participate in this forum may be completely unaware that a new deck is available... unless, of course, DoW informs them within the expansion itself. (I would be a bit surprised if they hadn't thought of this.)
I understand that everything we wish for can't be granted, but I do appreciate DoW's open ears and open minds coupled with its responsiveness to our thoughts and questions (not to mention a well conceived game manufactured to high standards)...
...will you add the full deck now???? (just kidding But seriously, of the forums for games and game companies I've visited and/or participated in, this is the forum that has (by far) the most participation by the company... thank you! It influenced my decision to get involved in this game to begin with.)

Selling spare parts (such as a replacement deck) through the channel is impractical at best to pull off, so I am afraid this will remain a DoW web site only item. I am quite confident that people who really need a spare deck will find us though.

Hey Eric, since we have you here, how often will DoW be updating or adding to the blog about the Air Pack? Is it every week or every-other week? I know there are two things writen so far and they are both very informative and interesting...when's the next one due?
I don't think it's too much to pay $5.00 plus shipping for a new deck. Once you have the one to use with the "Air Sortie" cards they will wear out at the same rate. One question I just thought of though: Later on, with the possibility of a new deck include a deck with the Air Sortie cards in with it so we can replace the normal cards and the new air pack cards? (I'm talking about down the road!)

The replacement deck already will include all the cards from your standard game AND the 2 Air Sortie cards, so we're covered there.
As to how frequently we'll post blog entries, we'll try to keep it to a once a week schedule for a while, but no promise: there's a few other things keeping us busy going into Christmas...
