Scenario Editor is available Tue, 22 June 2004 21:44
The Scenario Editor is available! Click on "Scenario Editor" in the "Veterans' Corner".

The basic idea is very simple:

- Select the terrain or unit or feature you want to place on the board
- Click on the board to place it.

To remove it, click again. To completely erase an hex, use the "blank" terrain.

You can use the "Scenario Verification" to check if your scenario is feasible with the standard set of terrain tiles.

Once saved, the scenario will appear in your private list. Once you are satisfied with your scenario and that you want to make it public, go back to the Editor and switch its status from "private" to "public". It will become visible to everyone.

Users who do not have 2 access numbers can try the Editor for free in demo mode (Save is disabled).

If you have questions or comments, please post them in this thread.

Have fun,

The tech team

What a nice thing to come home to. Was able to create my Fall of France, 1940 scenario this evening.

Thanks DOW!

Thanks, DoW!

Is there a way to save your scenario for pre-pub playtesting or release it only to certain playtesters?

I would hate to unleash a turkey on the unsespecting public. Rolling Eyes

No, there is no ways to make it available to a restricted list of people. You can always copy the image in the View page of the scenario and send it by e-mail, but I agree it is not very convenient, since you would miss all the rest...

I'll keep thinking about it. Maybe a solution would be to make it visible to all players who are in your Buddy List ?

I copied the image and the text into a word document. For a test-run, this works fine.

I'm working on a historical scenario called "Breakthrough at Sainteny", and I would be grateful for comments before I release it. So if anybody ist interested, I can send you a pdf...

Yes, the buddy list might be a good solution. All you'll need is to explain to people where the buddy list is Very Happy. Besides, it would be a good way for people to actually use it (the buddy list) Laughing

If I have bought 2 copies of Memoir from different companies and not directly from DOW, how do I get the scenario editor?

Well, that's easy: you just add the Access Numbers to your account. Click on the Dog Tag in the navigation bar. Once there are 2 access numbers (also called Web Cards), the Editor will automatically become available in full mode.

The important thing to keep in mind is that creating a separate account for each access number is a mistake. If you have difficulties, email us at support@daysofwonder.com

Have fun !

I got it but I can't reply. I take it I have to register one of the DoW webcards before I access that, too. Well, my personal copy of M44 will arrive today so I will do that tonight.

I am interested in both your scenarios and the weather board sounds cool. Send me a PM with your email and I will send an email directly to you for sending the scenarios. Thanks!

Re:Scenario Editor is available Thu, 24 June 2004 22:05
Why could'nt the full scenario editor be available to those who have registered 2 DoW games, instead of just 2 of M'44?

I also have Pirate's Cove (another great/fun game)and thus have 2 web cards registered.

Seem's a bit more fair to those of us who have invested in more than one DoW game, but have yet to find a need for 2 copies of M'44.

Just a thought...

I have 4 DOW "big box" games, but not 2 for M'44. Can I use the serial numbers for the other games (Ticket to Ride, Pirate's Cove, Mystery of the Abbey) to access the M'44 scenario editor, or does it have to be 2 M'44 numbers?

I am sure you will get an official answer, but I've been told it must be 2 M44 boxes. Makes sense to me as it is only for M44 and not for all DoW games. Just buy 2! Smile

To be honest, I am sure they do not have a problem with this. They may even condone it. It just means there can be only 1 account, though.

Yeah, unfortunately some people seem to think DoW is forcing them to buy it, etc. One would think some of them have something personal AGAINST DoW.
