I am just wondering what hex size they used for the special edition M'44 game someone posted a picture of a while back. If any one has any idea please post. Additionally, if anyone can tell me how to get a hextype pattern on my own materials let me know.

wayner2d2,

Take a M44 terrain hex and blow it up on a copier, glue it to a piece of cardboard, and cut it out. You'll have to measure all of the edges so that it is uniform. Then you can trace it on some colored felt. That's what we did when we played M44 in 1/32 scale.

Hope this helps.

Check out Steve Burt's 20mm Battlecry page: it's hexagons drawn on ply sheets, and then flocked, I think.

He's talking about playing M44 in 20mm, too.

Milton Bradley made a game years ago that used 120mm Hexagon that measured 3' wide by 5' long and was made in vinyl with seperate hexagons to change the terrain features. The game was based on fantasy figures though and was named Battle Masters.

The terrain map was of a country side with roads and a river. If your looking for templates, the seperate hexagons can be used for making your own.

Kallista do some huge plastic hex terrain. The units are about 15cm across. Battletech uses a much smaller hex; about 3cm. There are a lot of battletech paper maps about. I bought an entire cloth in Battlecry hex size some years ago.
