Using battleship figures as allied artillery in beach scenarios Sun, 27 June 2004 08:33
I was thinking of using battleship figures (from Attack! or like boardgames) as artilley for the allies on beach assault maps. One problem i thought of was how the axis would counter the battle ships. The only answer i could think of was if the battle ships only stayed for 1 or 2 turns to make it more even. Any comments?

Not a bad idea, and one that should be considered if M44 ever moves in to the Pacific theater.

Historically, the allies did have ships bombarding the beaches before the landing.

The barrage card fits in here. Aren't there scenarios that already simulate this one way or another? I am thinking that a couple of scenarios let you use recon cards as barrage cards.
