How many plan to buy two copies of the game? Tue, 29 June 2004 03:29
Hi All,

How many of you out there are planning to buy two copies of Memoir 44? I decided too not for the scenario editor but for more for playing the larger scenario. I do plan to use the scenario editor.

Have fun.

I bought one copy and have enjoyed the game. I have several friends interested in buying a copy too. I have actually had a second copy in a basket (on line) but, next week is my birthday Embarassed , so if anyone is interested in buying one for me, please, don't hesitate!!

Great game, thank you DoW. I will be getting a second game (soon after my birthday when I buy it.)

I do not plan on getting a second copy. The game is great, and several friends also have it, so any scenario needing 2 boards and more figures won't be a problem. Smile

I plan on buying a second one in a month or two. I just finished painting all the pieces in my first one and I know if I get a second I will not rest till I go thru that long process again. So I am giving myself a little break. I am slao waiting to hear back from DoW cause I was shorted 10 German infantry. Anyway, yes I am going to get a second copy. I want to include more players each session. My gaming group is about 5 diehards, and 3 occasionals so I want to be able to accommodate everyone.

Count me in the two copy crowd. I'm definitely buying another. This has fast become my favorite game.

I did, one straight from DOW and one from Funagain, for the scenarios already printed on slick paper (and the Overlord rules from DOW).

I did also, but purchased both at a local retailer.

Unfortunatly, this did not qualify me to get the additional scenarios.

Seems to me that access to these scenarios could/should be made to those who have registered two copies of the game, same as the scenario editor...

I found out about Memoir '44 only after the preorders were taken. I purchased two copies, first, for the expanded scenarios, second to have additional units and terrain tiles. Now, I just learned about the scenario editor. You get it free with two copies of the game. I will post my access numbers and download the editor ASAP.

After reading all the reviews I ordered two copies right from the start.
By the way I have 5 copies of Battle Cry along with two copies of every A&A version. - I can never have enough, more of everything. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a wife who lets me get away with it.

As Soon as the game was out in my local shop, I bought two copies. And I plan to get at least another two more. I'm really looking forward to running some big games at my local club in a month or so.

I also have 3 copies of Battle Cry. And I'm sure when the Ancients version of the game gets released I will do the same there to.

Does anyone play "Vive l'Empereur" from Gio Games? This is a Napoleonic game much like Battle Cry.

I bought two copies straight away. Partly to save money on the shipping and partly to ensure I would be able to play the Overlord scenarios.

I did that because I figured I would always be able to sell the other copy if I didn't want to won both - but as I have already dumped one box and placed everything into the other, I guess I will continue to own both Surprised

That I also receive free access to the editor was a nice and unexpected bonus.

I've purchased three copies - two for play and one for the collection. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite games.

I bought two copies as well. That went along with about 5 copies of Battle Cry that I bought over time (gave 3 away to friends who are now hooked). To me it was a no brainer, especially with scenarios designed for multiple boards!

Bought two direct from DoW. Will probably buy one more from another source. Two copies for playing and one for the collection. I have four copies of Battle Cry (a game which- in light of M44- needs revisiting by Mr. Borg).

I would like to correct myself on the purchasing of two copies. I was going to buy two copies, but now i can't. DoW has run out of it's first printing and no-one, i mean no-one has it in stock... All 20,000 copies. Jeeze. Now i have to wait for a whole new printing lol.

I just bought myself a second copy here in Belgium. I'm in the "FORUM"-boardgame club in Antwerp and our sponsor sells games. Maybe he has still a few in stock (I'm almost certain). His name is Carl Adriaensen and you can e-mail him at:

adriaensen.carl@pandora.be

You can also e-mail our club-chairman (Marc Vanden Branden) at one of the following addresses:

forum@pandora.be

marc.vandenbranden@pandora.be

Do mention my name (Günter D'Hoogh) and I'm sure the game will be sent to you as soon as possible!

In fact send your mail to the 3 addresses above, this will speed things up! I'm almost sure you'll get an answer before tomorrow morning!

Let me know if it worked, hope to be of any service,

Günter

Just a little hint, I don't know if Carl understands English, but Marc certainly does!

My local game-store had 5 copies yesterday... if someone would like a copy, I can perhaps help facilitate that. Unfortunately, they charge list price for everything.

OK, OK, I did buy a second copy (just call me a sheep!). I wanted the second copy for the Overlord scenario. Also, since I am involved in local game conventions, thought it would be good to have one as my "convention" copy. Now if I can keep my son from getting his hands on those extra figures.....

I've already bought 2 copies and played with 3 buddies for 4 hours today. It was great!! They all enjoyed the games. I'm hoping replacement parts will be for sale as well since I have a 3D board I produced for Battle Cry and would like to be running 3 copies of Memoir with that board and extra pieces.

It's not extra scenarios. rather, having two copies registered gives you free access to the Scenario editor, which is what we are using (and what contributors have been using) to produce new scenarios.

I used to buy all the games for our club - R.I.S.K. - but now we share the price if we want a new game.
Though Memoir '44 I bught on eBay for myself and my son. Last monday I brought it to our club and we palyed it. One of the members went out tuesday and bought one game for his son's birthday on saturday. So now we have two games!
Rolling Eyes
We are going to continue playing one board battles until we know the rules a little better. Then we will fight on two boards!
