Rumor mongering on BGG suggests that DoW might be the North American distributor for Valley Games Inc. Anything to that rumor? Rolling Eyes

I haven't followed the thread to much after my initial snide comments. I don't see why DOW would hook-up with Valley Games as they don't seem to cater to the same audience. But perhaps DOW would want to diversify. Still doesn't seem plausible to me.

Some thoughts if this were the "match-up."
* I would hope that DOW brings up Valley Games instead of VG bringing down DOW. I would hate to see a great company get sidetracked by the amateur VG crew.
* VG's PR would be in for a rude awakening. You would go from in correct statements every 2 days to an announcement once every 6 months.
* DOW would actually have a real pre-order system in place! (about the only benefit to current DOW customers in this deal)

My money is still on FRED/Eagle/Funagain being the sugar daddy to Valley Games. They seem in a better position to handle the high cost pre-order system. I really don't hope this happens as it would take a bad company (right now) and make them worse.

2nd bet might be Z-Man who seems to be the most successful at doing what VG is trying to do. 3rd bet would be Rio Grande who is probably salivating at the chance to get the rights to publish re-printed classics.

There is zero amount of truth to that rumor. Where do people come up with this stuff?!

Definitely not from the DOW Press Releases..... Rolling Eyes

Of course, this answer now leads to further speculation since it mimics an answer Eric gave about the Shadows Over Camelot expansion.... Perhaps there is some truth to this rumor after all..... Shocked

Thank you, MarkoPolo, for a clear and concise denial. I think the rumours come from not having any news coming from DoW.

By the way, you're not taking over Games Workshop, by any chance?

Hasn't FFG already confirmed they are taking over GW?

As announced by Valley Games, the new Partner is indeed Eagel Games (owned by FRED).

Now we can move this to the off-topic thread.
