Battlelore version of M44 case? Fri, 18 April 2008 17:18
The title says it all - will BattleLore players be getting a fantasy-themed carrying case for our Epic games? It would be best if it carried two full sets of the game, as most Epic scenarios seem to require more than the second board alone. I know the M44 case was long delayed and BL seemed to take the blame for the perceived neglect of the M44 line - will the boot be on the other foot now?

Careful what you wish for. As an M44 and BL player, I am not sure this carry case is the solution for either game. Instead of compartments that organize figures and terrain, it appears the carry case is nothing more than a custom fit shopping bag for the original boxes. I am unsure this is the right solution for M44 - though I plan to get it and see what Plano boxes I can substitute in.

I am even less certain this would transfer over to BL. With an endless supply of expansions projected, it does not seem practical to keep accomodating the entire expansion box - especially when the contents boil down to just a literal handful of items.

I would have prefered to see a similar desing fo rthe bag but allow for the insertion of custom plastic boxes that would have helped organize terrain and units and different pockets to securely store the boards, rules, and other goodies.

I couldn't agree more Coltsfan. A way to *compress*, organize, and carry is the only real solution. Carrying around the BL packaging would def be a zig when a zag is required.

And unlike M44, where there is probably a "finite" set of types of units, it would seem BL could introduce different types of units.

And thus more logicistics than anything probably be the key.

A zig when a zag is required? That's brilliant. I'm going to add that to my vocabulary.

D'oh! You're right! I hadn't looked too hard at the M44 bag when the question sprang to mind! I have my figures in a pair of small-parts cases, but boards, cards, tokens, etc., are still in the BL box.

I sorta have such a bag for my BattleLore paraphernalia - we purchased luvsac a couple years ago and I still had the cavernous cloth shopping bag that the extras came in and it now houses BattleLore and Commands and Colors:Ancients in a very similar fashion as the M'44 satchel (which, I think is pretty cool, but then I also think having large polyurethane stuffed bean bag style furniture is pretty cool too...)
