  parts needed Wed, 04 June 2008 16:19
Hello all. I am in dire need here.
I went to check on my base game this week. Much to my horror, I am now missing all obstacles. Mad
I keep them in a separate plastic case for ease of use and sorting. Anyway, they are now missing. I have a bad feeling they got tossed out by my curious 2 year old. Sad
So, is there any way of buying these parts separately? I have two games worth of everything but the obstacles.
If not, is there parts out there that one could substitute?

Thanks for any help at all in this matter.
Robert

That would be very frustrating! Shocked There was a guy who was selling Memoir games in separate parts on eBay for a while, but I haven't seen anything from him in a while. You could look around and figure out something to use in place of each obstacle. Good luck!!

Roco use to make a set of obstacles that had dragons teeth and wire entanglements. Also, Fujimi sells a set in 1/76 that should probably suffice as the obstacles in the game are over-scaled anyway.

Robert you can always contact DoW Customer Support and obtain the missing obstacles that way...Usually will cost you shipping.

Thanks RonB, I'll do a search on Fujimi.

Caboose, I am looking at replacing two complete sets of obstacles.

Well, the good news is that my game shelf went higher up and any chair or table was removed from the area. The boy is a natural climber with great curiosity and no fear.

Even now he looks up at my games trying to figure out how to get to them.

Thanks for all the suggestions,

Robert

And keep checking EBay...stuff comes up there now and then, as mentioned. Definitely contact DoW Customer Service...I bet they can help you. Good luck!

Thanks for the e-bay lead.
I couldn't find anything definite from fujimi but will keep at it.
I sent a request into customer service, so I'll let you all know how that turns out.
Well, off to check e-bay.

Another option is to scratch build them. This can be done w/ little trouble. For the hedgehogs, some balsa wood. The Barbed wire can be made from wood dowels. The sandbags are more of a challenge. However, years ago I remember a minis gamer (HO scale) making sandbag emplacements out of (get this) mini chicklet gum. He glued the pieces together, let that dry and them painted them. The small gum pieces do look like small sandbags. A very clever idea. Just thought I would throw that out there is case your other options fail. Smile

DoW replaced various pieces of mine that went missing for Battlelore, so it should also work for M44.

I am in contact with them right now.
I don't know exactly what is going to happen, but will post when I do.
They have been great so far.
