the curse of the campaign bag Thu, 12 June 2008 20:16
FYI, I just received an email from DOW that the campaign bag has been delayed until July. Sad

Guess I can stop checking my front porch every day...

I'm in no rush for the bag, just give me Merlin's Company Rolling Eyes

I'm also anxiously awaiting Merlin's Company. Does anybody know when preorders will open for the US?

I thought I saw a post saying that Merlin Company was going to be released in Sept/October timeframe (I think October to coincide with Essen) - but I've been gone the past few weeks so that might have changed.

I am thinking of getting two. One for Memoir and the other for Arkham Horror. It seems to work for that game perfectly as well.

Re:the curse of the campaign bag Fri, 13 June 2008 21:01
I'm going with the not[referencing the campaign bag]. Compared to all the other Memoir expansions, the bag is the only one I hear/read major complaints about.
I don't know if I'm going to get it or not. The map is the best feature (IMHO) about the bag, but unless they are going to release several official scenarios for it, I may very well pass on it. Still waiting on more official Overlord scenarios, we've only 5 of them Rolling Eyes

Eastern Front and Pacific are the best expansions IMHO.

I must agree with you. For me its really hard to understand why DoW doesnt make the map (alone) available for us to buy it.

Anyway, its hard to believe too that they would release a map without more scenarios planned !!! Very Happy

But on the plus side it's easier to lug around than my ammo box.

Laughing That's funny!

The bag is a bit of a dissapointment to me... Although, I will still probably buy one. I mean... whats the difference between this M44 bag, and a large shopping bag? you know, the ones with the handles at Christmas time, color? You still need to use your original boxes, and just put them in the bag. That was one thing that I was hoping for the most. A "Plano" type system designed just for M'44 and "THEN" put into a canvas type bag. oh well...

Just for the record... I would like to have seen the British Expansion come out first too... NOW.... after the Air Pack, for every expansion that 'does' come out, they will need to include the cards to put with the Air Pack cards, and number them too.

I don't know. But I do know that I am very pleased about my two copies - although I have found out that I really only need one.

I bought two (as I have with everything else for the game) but have found a way to keep two complete sets plus scenarios and aids in one bag.

And the Breakthrough Map seems to be made of good strong paper, so I have decided against mounting it (the bag is heavy enough as it is!)

Sorry, but I'll keep onto it for the time being.
I am toying with an idea for an Overlord Breakthrough Shocked

Can I propose something else ? Its very expensive to import the bag to Brazil . So , dont you need a third bag ? I can pay , lets say , U$ 15 for the map . You pay the others U$ 25,00 and stay with the bag with you. Then , you send the map for me. Ok...I can pay the shipment of the map too...

Im eager to play this scenario ...somebody help me ...

Someone after my own heart! Very Happy When I can, I like to track my stuff and watch as it gets closer.

My wife and I are buying our first house this week so my bag is on an indefinate hold (unless I get it as a gift for my birthday). Have fun with your breakthrough map and play an extra game for me! Cool

Re:the curse of the campaign bag Thu, 10 July 2008 06:31
ras,

My son and I should get a chance to Breakthrough by tomorrow night. My bag was scanned an hour ago (10:15 p.m. our time) at a location 35 minutes from my house, so I expect it to show up on my porch some time in the morning.

We'll throw down an extra M44 game or two just for you. Good luck with the house purchase. Here's hoping you get a great gaming room with space for a massive table.

I'm sure it'll be really tough for you and your son to play those few extra games for me! Laughing

Actually, the new house has a "formal" dining room that we don't need for eating...I can sense an unofficial game room coming! Very Happy And if my wife doesn't go for that long term, there's an extra bedroom that I can capture! Twisted Evil
