Custom made Breakthrough Map

Hey all,
I thought you might want to see what my brother and me have been working on during the last weeks. It's a beautiful custom made Breakthrough Board!!!
As I don't know how to post pictures and it's too late to figure out how, I just uploaded some pics to my user page.
Enjoy and expect a tutorial to follow.

nice!! I would like to do one with an island in the middle and ocean all around. A great Pacific Theater breakout map. I would like to know how you did it, it looks great!!

That's very nice!
Could you please upload a good sized image (tiff, psd, whatever you've got) so I can print one myself? I do have the means to print a board that big, all I need is the file.
yousendit.com, rapidshare.com, whatever suits you the best.

Great Map. It appears to be laminated. You could probably use it as a tabletop for regular scale memoir games as well, since it is larger.

Well, I'm just three and a half hours late... not bad for a musician, isn't it?
Ok, Step I of the tutorial is online and covers the basics. Hex measurement, layout, design and stuff like that. As I've added some figures, the file is quite large. ~ 3MB. But, as you will understand, I needed some figures to explain certain things. Sadly, my english is not good enough to rely entirely on verbal communication...
I hope you enjoy and learn.
I'll make sure to answer any questions you might (and I suspect will) have and will be adding more steps in the next few days.

Damn, I forgot to remember you all to make sure to add the red section borders...
But I'm sure most of you will have thought of that yourselves.

Ok, part II of the tutorial is online, giving you a few ideas on how to deal with background designs. In addition, I've corrected some typos of Step I and added a reminder to add the section borders...
