Random Terrain Generation

I have created an Excel spreadsheet that generates randomized terrain for Battlelore. It has a minor compatibility issue with Open Office (but is still usable). The map created is printable.
You can download at http://www.rogercooper.com/BattleloreRandomTerrainGenerator. htm
Your comments would be appreciated. I will probably issue a final version in a month.

Ha! Very handy! I know nothing about excel, but is there a way to emulate that with the game-hexes? Not that it matters, nor that I'm requesting it; just curious as to whether or not excel can utilize graphics as well.

I can't figure out a way to get better graphics from Excel than I already doing. Excel is not really a graphics program. In any event, the current format is quite readable, so what is the point as the players will be setting up the hexes.
It would be possible to reformat the spreadsheet to print a map with playable hexes (actually squares).

Anyway to do that for memoir '44 (I know they are the same game basically, but there are a lot of differences)

Yes. I may do so a Memoir 44 version in the future. I updated the spreadsheet recently and put in instructions on changing the parameters. You could simply rename the terrain types.
Doing a full version in Memoir 44 would probably require a somewhat different treatment of rivers because of the scale. My spreadsheet assumes that rivers continue across the entire map and contain only a single bend. For Memoir 44, I would need to consider that rivers can meet on the map and that towns are often next to bridges.
Another complication is the need to show road networks (and even rail networks).
Still I could (or maybe even you could) do it.

Badges are what BL calls objective hexes. They are in the scenario designer, on the right hand side of the screen.
