Who has ALL of the Mem '44 stuff? Sound Off, Soldier! Wed, 18 March 2009 01:53
OK which among you are the most dedicated (and richest) of the bunch?

Who has ALL of the stuff, including the recent Campaign Book?

And I'm talking 2 copies of the main game, Air pack, all terrain packs including winter/desert map, Med, Pacific, Eastern Front, Overlord, Hedgerow Hell - did I miss anything?

I am proud to be the first to sound off that yes I proudly own it all (I think)! Just wondering how many of you are as crazy as me! Now if I just had time to actually PLAY with all of it!

He could probably play out a whole WWII using one of his minis to represent each individual man and vehicle.

But does he have enough DICE to pull it off? lol

Actually, I might have enough dice! Yes, I do have a lot of Memoir '44 material. Embarassed But it's not all just for me (although over the summer I get to keep it all in my game room)! Razz

Let's see...before I started the Memoir '44 History Club I already had:

2 Base Games
1 Terrain Pack
1 Eastern Front
1 Pacific Theater
1 Winter/Desert Board
1 Air Pack
1 Campaign Bag
1 Med. Expansion
And tons of other minis that I've painted to be elite units.

Now that I have the History Club, I've increased all of my supplies and I'm still hoping to get more. For the Club I have:

6 Base Games
5 Terrain Packs
5 Pacific Theaters
3 Campaign Bags
2 Air Packs
1 Eastern Front (thanks PanzerRunes)
2 Operation Overlord
4 Hedgerow Hell

I should find out tomorrow if I get another grant that I applied for. After the limited fame I got from the Newspaper Article, the organization that I got the origional start-up funds from has agreed to let me apply for more. If that comes through I'll be getting some more equipment.

So yes, it could take me a while to run out of equipment! Laughing

not quite there yet:

1 base game/TP/EF/PT/Overlord/Airpack/Camp Bag + 2 breakthrough maps/Camp book/Hedgerow Hell/winter-desert map/ and the XMAS07 Baraque De Fraiture scenario Very Happy

I think a second base game is next on the "to buy" list, but I might get the MF expansion first, who knows Smile

I believe that I meet all of the requirements posted above:

2 base games
1 terrain pack
1 eastern front
1 desert/winter board
1 pacific theater
1 mediterranean theater
1 carrying bag
1 air pack
1 campaign book
1 hedgerow hell
1 operation overlord

and a variety of scenarios in magazines, the winter postcard scenario, extra deck of command cards.

Pretty crazy...

I still need to get a 2nd box of Eastern Front and the Pacific Theater and probably another desert/winter board for Overlord scenarios

I was around when M44 first came out and strayed off in other directions (AA:Miniatures Embarassed Thumbs Down ).Having gotten that out of my system, a friend of mine had the base game, and decided to get a bunch of the expansions (he got everything save for a second base game & the bag, and is waiting on a campaign book right now I believe).

That got me to thinking about getting back into it, and I decided to do just that. Currently, I have everything save for a second base game. Not sure I need one just yet as we have 2 copies between the two of us, although I have noticed that there is enough room in the bag for one more copy to be squeezed in there... Rolling Eyes

-Base game x 1
-Terrain Expansion
-Desert/Winter Board
-Russian Expansion
-Pacific Expansion
-Mediterranean Expansion
-Overlord Expansion
-Air pack
-Hedgerow Hell
-Campaign Book
-Travel Bag

I've got to say, after looking through the campaing book that this is a good time to be back! Very Happy

Back when BattleCry came out (too bad it never got the phenomenal support Days of Wonder has given M44), a bunch of us used to play the H-E-Double Toothpicks out of that game. It was a great beer & pretzels game too. I even had my 16 year old playing it (that was years ago, he had to have been around 9 or 10).

Anyway, they released the only known "support" for that game in the form of a folder with three scenarios in it, called "Stonewall in the Valley". We played through those three scenarios as a mini campaign, and did the switching sides thing and all. We just kept score game by game, and figured a winner that way.

This campaign book, IMHO, is something that has been long overdue for this game. I am really "geeked" about the three Grand Campaigns in it, and the possibilities for more seem to be endless.

What a great way for younger people to discover and learn about this period of history and of the events that unfolded then, that have helped to shape the world today. And what a great way for all the grognards (like myself) to revisit these events in such a way that they can enjoy the time with friends over a glass of "suds", and not be so strapped with game mechanics and rules as to be able to actually have the time to BS with one another as well as play the game! Very Happy

I will not be waiting for additional scenario books to be released before buying, these will be a standard pre-order item for me from this point forward. Volume 1 is simply fantastic, my hat's off to Days of Wonder & Richard! What a super game you have created! Thumbs Up

Here's where I'm at:

2 Base Games
2 Terrain Pack
2 Eastern Front
2 Pacific Theater
2 Winter/Desert Board
2 Air Pack
1 Campaign Bag
2 Med. Expansion
1 Hedgerow Hell
1 Overlord

Instead of using the inf figs that came with the game I went out and bought Italeri/Aifix/Revell etc. Painted those up and use them exclusively now. and of course the tanks/art pieces that came with the game have been painted as well.

Next purchase is the Campaign book.

But I'm not addicted Rolling Eyes Laughing

I might as well jump in the water with everyone else.

I have the following
Base Game - 2
Air Pack - 1
Eastern Front - 1
Pacific Theater - 1
Mediterranean Theater - 1
Terrain Pack - 1
Winter/Desert Board - 1
Hedgerow Hell - 1

I have about 600 1/72 scale soldiers most from the Italiria consisting of German and American soldiers

I am going to get the Campaign book.

I'm going to pass on the Operation Overlord - I cant bring myself around to getting this system that has cardboard playing chits. I have been ruined. I am going to pass on the Campaign Bag as I have my playing pieces in containers that work very well for me.

There I've said it and now I feel better

I was trying to figure out what in the world the cardboard counters with the Overlord expansion were supposed to be good for myself. I visualized a game where some of the units were the figures, and others the counters and thought, not for me!

A buddy of mine had the right idea as far as the cardboard counters go, however. Just mix them in with the miniature pieces just like Axis & Allies does with chips. So instead of 4 infantry figures in a unit, you'd have two infantry figures on a cardboard counter each. Obviously, the cardboard goes first when the hits start. Tanks would be a little whoper-jawed with the odd number, but workable. Artty would be one gun on a counter.

Used like that, the Overlord expansion is a real value as opposed to being just a bonus card deck deal.

I suppose you could always use the chips from an A&A game to do the same thing, then even the British are covered! Cool

Think the Overlord card pack should be sold separately -- for those of us who already have way too many figures Razz !

Rasmussen, you didn't tell us if you've ever played Super Overlord, with those six boards all lined up together. Surely you've got enough volunteers to have enough Generals, nay, Corps Commanders Laughing !

Here's my 2p worth:

Base Game - 2
Air Pack - 1
Eastern Front - 2
Pacific Theatre - 2
Mediterranean Theater - 1
Terrain Pack - 1
Winter/Desert Board - 2
Campaign Book - 1
Overlord expansion - 1
Hedgerow Hell - 1
Tigers in the Snow - 1

I use 1/44th models for Afrika Korps armour and artillery and 1/72nd plastics for Afrika Korps and Italian infantry.

I don't have the bag but I wish there were more Breakthrough scenarios available.

BTW I play M'44 at least once a week and wear my reproduction Wehrmacht cap for luck! Very Happy What do you lot wear when playing?! Rolling Eyes

It's true, I could do a crazy big Overlord battle. But a normal overlord battle was chaotic enough with 4th graders that I think trying anything bigger might put me in an early grave!! Laughing

There's nothing for it, a whole group of guys from this forum will have to make a trip to Bend, Oregon so we can try a six-board Overlord battle! Who's in?! Very Happy

2 base games
1 Terrain pack, 1 Eastern front, 1 desert/winter board, 1 Pacific theater, 1 Mediterranean theater, and 1 Airpack.

Many soldiers in 1/72 scales (Revell, Italeri & Airfix).
2 dozen Perrin Armor in 10mm

I also have TOI with both expansions.

I love to play WWII games, but being a full-time university student, I don't play as much as I would like to. I also discovered painting figures and armor was great fun and do it once in a while.

Eric has just posted this regarding the Breakthrough format:

Yes, there are plans to release new Breakthrough scenarios online that use the countryside map that came with the Campaign bag in the not too distant future; and to release some new breakthrough Battle Maps with minis, further down the road.

This might make me change my mind Rolling Eyes

Here's my incomplete colection!

1 Base Games
1 Terrain Pack
1 Eastern Front
1 Pacific Theater
1 Winter/Desert Board
1 Air Pack
1 Med. Expansion

Waiting for the campain book to arrive to a store near me, and for future new expansions. Maybe, Breakthrough (cardboard) Maps, new Minis and whatever comes next.

Also found recently my childhood 1/72 soldiers (pics in My user Page), who already were involved in some fights Smile, and planning to buy more Airfix, Italeri and Revell soldiers.

But my brother, Jesse (rasmussen81), has stuff spread out all over the floor at his house and I could borrow or play with any of it. Does that count?! Very Happy

Wow, thank you Leonnez! Very Happy

I'm glad the painting tutorials have been useful. I've had fun painting my figures but they aren't nearly as good as those done by Brummbar, Wittman, Bar-91, or Yangtze. But I enjoy myself.

I'll have to put some more pictures up on my User Page when I have some time. I'd be interested in seeing some of your work too! Smile

I enjoy and use Brummbar's tutorials also. His photos are always a great inspiration to paint my toys. I started painting my toys only after I saw M44 photos and realized I really enjoyed it. I hope to have some photos someday, when I learn how.
