I can't play on my home computer any more. Tue, 14 April 2009 02:19
Mad My home computer doesn't support the changes you've made to TTR. I love this game, but I don't know if I can make an investment of over $1,000. just to play it. Just thought I'd let you know you may have squeezed some of us out of the game.

What kind of computer do you have?
Our requirements for the web based games are quite low, and I think that 5 years old computer should be enough to run our games.

My computer is a 2002 iMac. It apparently needs a higher operating system (Tiger, 10.4.1 I think) to run the new TTR. I called Apple Computer and to upgrade the operating system I would need a new logic board among other things, the cost of which would almost be the cost of a new computer.

Thanks for your quick reply.

It might be possible to compile the needed Java without upgrading to 10.4.x... tho' it would also require X-windows be up and running.

Look around for it for Darwin, rather than OSX. (OSX is Darwin + Aqua, generally.)

I'm running 10.4.11 on a PowerPC G4 imac from 2002 here at the office without any trouble. And guess what, Ticket to Ride runs fine on it.
Previously I had a 2002 Power PC G3 ibook, which also was running 10.4.11.
