Can anyone describe a few turns so I can see how the market builds up. The way I read it is that you take all 3 cards shown, then discard to a separate pile on the side if necessary, and then put 3 new cards for the next player. The market will never have more than 3 cards (1 in each stall). Also, can you pick 3 cards off the top instead of taking 3 cards from the stall?

When you go to the market, you only take the cards in one stall (one pile). Then you put 3 new cards in each stall for the next player.

Example :

Pile 1 = 1 card
Pile 2 = 1 card
Pile 3 = 1 card

Player 1 goes to the market and takes the Pile 1 card . Then he adds one card in each pile.

Pile 1 = 1 card
Pile 2 = 2 cards
Pile 3 = 2 cards

Player 2 goes to the market and takes the Pile 2 cards. Then he adds one card in each pile.

Pile 1 = 2 cards
Pile 2 = 1 card
Pile 3 = 3 cards

Etc.

And to answer your other question, no, you can't pick cards on the top of the Market draw pile (exception of the Vizier special card). You must take cards from the stalls.
