If there was going to be a new one soon, and the general public knew, you'd know
Keep you eyes out for an announcement though! Who knows?

I would really like it if the next one was a double sided board with two maps. Like the Switzerland expansion, only with two maps.

It would take you guys some work, but if your interest is maps, there are dozens out there, either in the "fan contributions" of this very website, on Boardgamegeek, and many other sites out there. There IS an Australian TTR map, which seems nicely done. All it takes is either (a) some time to print the map and assemble it, or (b) some money to send it to a poster site.
(Granted, that may be a bit much, but I spent US$75 a few months ago and received awesome-looking maps of France, UK, Belgium, Northeast US/Canada, and a couple of others -- more than enough for a while.)
As an aside, I'm sure if DOW is planning on any new maps, there will also be some new rules to go along with the new map, not just a new map. Some DOW people (can't recall who) confirmed that they would not overload the market with maps. The double-sided map thing does sound like a good idea.

I know it sounds like a lot of money in one hit, but US$75 for half a dozen maps is really very good value. Imagine how much you'd be paying DoW if you bought a half dozen expansions from them.
(Not that I'm saying DoW overcharges, mind, but professionally-produced boardgames are not cheap.)
I once had a couple of home-made maps printed from early fan-created expansions. I gave them away to a friend when I moved interstate, as the chance of squishing them during the move was too great. (They were paper, stored rolled. I also gave away my herb garden, for basically the same reason.) I figure if I really want to own them again, it won't be a problem to reprint them here (this time in one big piece and laminated by a print shop). They were pretty good maps, though: Belgium and Lyon, amongst the earliest fan-created expansions.

I sent the JPG files to
http://www.elcocolor.com/poster_special.htm
..and got them as 20x30 posters, which is just a bit smaller than a TTR board. Your link looks cool for a more durable assembly, and I guess you can make those boards two-sided. Some of the maps (France, DC Metro) wouldn't work on a 4xA4 board though.
I looked around quite a bit and the big cost is really the printing of the map itself, not the cardboard. On inkjet it's really ink-consuming, and there are many poster sites out there that charge outrageous prices for 20x30 (or bigger) posters. Here in NA, El-Co had the best prices; I don't know if it's still the case if you order from Europe (need to pay USPS Global shipping).
