If you mean the Operation Market garden scenario from The battlemap, YES!

Overlord is playable as two-player.

There was a tread on this subject recently.

The most fun I've had with M44 to date is playing Operation Market Garden with two players.

So, a resounding YES.

Do you need to use the overlord card decks or can you just use the regular cards dividing the board up in 3 sections rather than 6? (I've never played Overlord, but this scenario really seems worthwhile!...)

I have only played it with the Overlord deck, and Overlord was designed for play with the Overlord deck.

I is playable with two normal decks, but some cards change what they order. See the original Overlord rules for a description of how you play with two ordinary decks.

The Overlord deck have Overlord specific text on them and it makes it easier to play. Don't have to look up in the rulebook to see what the different command cards can do.
You can find them here: http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/content/rules/

Both the rules for the new Overlord deck: deck:http://static.memoir44.com/lang/english/images/mm_opera tion_overlord_en.pdf and howto play with two original decks: decks:http://static.memoir44.com/lang/english/images/mm_over lord.pdf

Another problem is that with only one deck you can run out of cards easily. For Market Garden you would deal 16 cards at the start and after drawing new cards for some rounds you have to reshuffle the deck. The overlord deck also naturally have all cards doubled so you have two Their Finest hour and Two Ambush and Four Armor Assault and with only one deck good cards can be few and far between.

BUT, it is playable with only one deck, but it was designed for play with the Overlord deck.
Give it a try and let us know how it played out.

It's playable with a single deck, you'll just find yourself reshuffling a lot.

You don't want to divide the board into 3 section. Overlord is balanced for six and should be played that way, especially with a scenario like this one.

I beat my son on the MarketGarden map tonight. I have played the Allies twice. He really kicked my backside the first time, XXX Corp never got close to Eindhoven and his Tiger put tracks on the poor British airborne. This time it was much closer, 13 to 11. He came close to winning and I had to risk many troops to contest the two bridges I didn't have to keep 'em out of his hands.

The game came down to one die, he had a single tank in woods and I was able to get an infantry unit close enough to roll ONE die. I need one last medal to win. Drop'd it in the dice tower and it seemed to take an hour to come back out, and when it did it came up "tank". VICTORY! He's been on a winning streak lately.....
