Begian Dutch players Thu, 09 July 2009 12:17
Hello,

In the french forum, we are talking about setting up a Belgian M44 federation as French are already doing.

We are wandering if some Dutch speaking players are following news on this english forum which might be easier for them to understand the technical questions.

If yes, thanks to let us know.

Hey Vangoce,

what kind of federation will this be, with real live boardgaming or via Vassal?

Hi,

It can be everything we want Very Happy

France, that has enough players, is setting up an association mainly to make a championship and to organize events in the "real world".

We are wandering if we are enough to do the same. To answer your question, it can be both Vassal and real game. An association can be a good solution to create an event like an open without taking any risk for the organisators.

It can also be a good solution to collect prizes, to rent a place and for the contacts with DoW.

We were 10 at the France Open and 16 ten days ago in Mons (Bergen). Only French speaking players. If we are les than 20/25, I think it's useless to set up something.

I'm wandering how many belgian players are Dutch speaking and if they should be interrested in this project. When we'll know this, we can look forward.

By the way, it can be a funny way to know each other to create a virtual Belgian tournament to meet all Belgian players and discuss about it.

OK,

well to admit, I am Dutch not Belgian Embarassed Razz, however I am interested in some kind of federation. I do not know if a Dutch one already exists but maybe there could be some cooperation between Dutchies and Flemish (Dutch Belgians Very Happy) players who play M'44, this way you could probably create something like a larger federation (>20 players), it would be nice to do this in a city close to the two borders with good access to public transport, but I guess I am running too far ahead .... Very Happy

No problem that you're Dutch, for a Wallon like me, you're all the same. LOL !!!! Very Happy

If we group Flemish and Dutch, we are talking about federation by language. Am I right?

For the town to meet each other, well, if I'm part of the federation, the point will go further to the South because I'm at the border with Luxemburg. The average will be distance will be different Smile

Does anyone else has another opinion?
