What are your high scores so far? Tue, 14 July 2009 19:33
Obviously the number of players makes a difference.

My highest so far is 126 in a 3-man game.

Also, what is the highest you have seen someone score in a TURN?

I think I have seen 16 a couple of times...

We have had 18s in a turn, but that may have included the wealthy power.
We have played 25 games now and highest scores are:
2 player (4 games) = 144
3 player (6 games) = 131
4 player (8 games) = 117
5 player (7 games) = 111
One of the 5 player matches was a draw on points (98) so it was decided by race tokens.
I have personally won 7 times out of 19 plays.

Not sure if this counts but I scored 138 tonight in a "3-man" game whereby I was playing all 3 sides!

I do not cheat of course. I play each side making the best moves for each. But I'm sure it screws with the srategy at some subconscious level...

And yes I DO have friends but it's hard to get people together during the week and I need to playtest my new ideas for the contest as much as I can!

We definitely had a 19 scored in a game the other night that didn't include a "wealthy" payout.

I also had fortified trolls and spirit humans start in a 3 player game with me, so i payed 5 to pick the dragon master amazons and flew into them with the dragon wreaking ball. I'm sure without that early bold move I would have been left far behind.

Last night we had a situation where 2 players in a 5-player game managed to grab 20 points each on one of their turns...

Alchemist Giants (with Dragon-Master Amazons in decline), and Merchant Humans (with Beserk Ghouls in decline).

It didn't help them in the long run, as I won with 98 points (would have been well over a hundred except for some panicked slaughtering of my pieces in the last round as people began to get paranoid about the potential lead I was building!).

That said it ended pretty close with the two aforementioned players scoring 93 and 91 respectively Smile

Just outdone myself for single-round high score in a 2-player game against the wife.

Paid over the odds for Flying Trolls (position 3), followed by Spirit Ghouls in position 5 (which I threw into decline one round after bringing them onto the board). Finally paid through the nose again for Pillaging Amazons (position 5 again).

I think the highest I scored in any of the first 7 rounds was 10 points...not to mention the 10 points I paid out to buy races. But on round 8, I scored a monumental 26 points, followed by 19 then 18 to win the game Very Happy

In a 5 player game the other day we had a the following for the top 3 scores...

92
91
87

The 92 was probably higher, as my daughter knocked her stack over at the end of a turn, and some of her coins fell into the draw pile. She refused to take any out, to avoid the appearance of cheating, but we are pretty sure she would have been over 100, if not 110.

On turn 8 my maxed out (Most, if not all, of them on the board) Sorcerers with the Marsh special ability netted me 20 coins to give me the 91.
