World War III in 2020?
It sounds like these ideas will have to be their own games. Instead of it being "Memoir '44: World War I" or "Memoir '44: Franco-Prussian War" or "Memoir '44: World War III", we're talking about entirely new titles with new rules that reflect the time they portray. If Richard was working on something like these, I would hope to see exciting new rules added to the Memoir '44 system instead of the same old thing shoved into a new time period.

Ah crap!
I'm gonna have to buy another game.
I will need more storage space and my wife is going throw something out (me I bet).

I wonder if it'll be produced by Days of Wonder. I hope so, because I really like their products but maybe it would compete too much with Memoir '44.

So Franco-Preussian game being released around 2070 and playtesting of scenarios already started I guess we will see a game with SUPERIOR balance.
And with roughly 60 years of playtesting to get the rules right I also guess Rasmussen doesn't need to do a FAQ for this game.
When will rules be posted online? Around 2050? And pre-orders starting around 2060?
Ohh, can't wait for 2070!

Indeed, when WWI is out, as is Franco Prussian war, we will deal with Overlord battles of Romans vs. Barbaric warriors, or the Romans vs the Huns!

Whilst I am a fan of Richard Borg's games, I am also of the view that I would prefer to see further expansions of M'44 rather than see the system diverge into new periods. DOW does a great job with M'44 IMHO, and I for one am looking forward to further expansions - hopefully in the near future.

If you look in the new Official FAQ, Richard talks about his group of friends who are in his gaming group and help him play test his games and scenarios. They all live in Florida, I would imagine.

I would certainly hope not.
The Battle experience completely ruined the deadlines for Memoir '44.
I would prefer DoW used their resources for M'44 (and a few individual games) instead of repeating their mistakes.

Terrain + tiles already exist. Only some extra tile-types would be needed.
WWI enthousiats will welcome these extra tiles, specific rules, and specific figure expansians.
I'm sure DoW will not underestimate this UK and European games market. Also, WWI outcome was majorly influecend by 1917 involvement (2012 = 95th anniversarry )
Best,

Well guys I live near Flanders fields and honestly, except from the German advance and some allied counter attacks in 1914, some campaigns between 1914 and 1917 (Somme, Verdun,...always the same massacres?), I think that the possibilities are very limited.
A trench war is just like what it says. My trench... your trench and leave me alone. I bombard you, you bombard me; I sent a regiment over the top into your heavy machine gun fire, you do the same tomorrow.
All you need for tiles are trenches and mud fields.
I think the scenarios would be very limited if you keep to the Western European front. Of course, you could add some air rules, some tank rules (1916 onwards), Central Africa terrain, Palestine, Lawrence of Arabia's exploits, the Dardanelles (Gallipolli...)
But all in all, honestly, I think there is far more interesting potential in developing more WWII expansions if we want to continue playing our favourite game in more or less the same format.
Hey and I am interested in a Waterloo try-out as I am in a WWI try-out, do not understand me wrongly. I would buy them (if it was only because they happened over here where I live) Just WWII is more versatile and more promising to keep on going IMO.

Unless you have Zeppelin raids, dog fights maybe even naval battles, WW I by itself might be kind of limited (surely compared to Memoir '44).
However, a game designed to capture the 19th century wars that formed the modern Eurpoean states would have a lot of possibilities, starting from Napoleonic wars through Franco-Prussian war. This could even extend to WWI I wihtout much difficulty I bet.
