Val and others organizing. Good job so far.
Do you have a breakdown on time zone question? In rules it looks like we are set up into groups based on ELO only. How will that impact time zone preference then?

(what I guess I am asking for those who play USA nights and are debating about signing up: Can they be assured that their first phase/round will be USA night time?)

Also, How do the games get organized as far as time? Will there be a phase group organizer assigned?

Hi Onyx,

*Groups in first phase will be done looking at ELO and at time-zone (but more at time-zone). Therefore, we will do groups in the first phase looking for requirements of the players as much as possible.

*Regarding the game schedule. For first phase we will leave it mainly to the players to organize "evenings" of play. We will try to help more in the last phase of the first round for the remaining games.

Re:The Multiplayers Winter Championship 2009 Fri, 30 October 2009 17:35
So, I decided to be head of tourney.

I'm bye up to the final.

Here's the round robin.

GROUP A :

Robin Hood
Ommie
Onyx Puffin

Group B (he can block himself)

Gralsritter
Graf Zahl

Final = Sysy + 3 first of Group A

Sorry : All others are not allowed to registered.
Why ? Either too low, either friend of Gralsritter (sorry if it eliminates too many of u), either blocker, either not friend with White Train.

Have fun all

Hi all,

these are the updated new rules whose need came out during the tournament.

1st)
Become stricter in the management of the games before the first deadline for 1st phase and semifinal

*current rule:

9.) Unplayed games

1st and 2nd phase will have two deadlines. We hope that most games are being played before 1st deadline. After 1st deadline TDs will try to set dates and times of play for each of the remaining game (before the second deadline).

If a player has unplayed games and he/she doesn't show up in the event that TD's have set (final deadline) then "no show" gets -1 points. Other players finish their remaining games and "no show" are being replaced by bot, whose placement will not count.

New rule:

9.) Unplayed games

1st and 2nd phase will have two deadlines. We hope that most games are being played before 1st deadline. After 1st deadline TDs will try to set dates and times of play for each of the remaining game (before the second deadline).

If a player has unplayed games and he/she doesn't show up in the event that TD's have set (final deadline), other players finish their remaining games and "no show" are being replaced by bot, whose placement will not count.

If a player does not show up for a scheduled game for which he explicitely agreed before in any time during these phases. Then the game will be played the same with a bot at his place.
The game can be repeated immediately after TD ruling if the no-show was due to exceptional reasons, otherwise the botted player can ask for a replay at the end of the phase under the procedure of the "Recovery Rule".

----------------------------
Off course, this rule will be applied next year.
-------------------------------------

2nd)the recovery rule

RECOVERY RULE
*a game played with a bot can be re-played after the end of the phase only if all the other players involved agree for that sending a PM to a TD or in the lobby or in the forum before the game itself is repeated.
**Strict time: The game has to be repeated in 72 hours from the deadline, or 72 hours from the official communication of the TD giving the ok for the replay. TDs will indicate which case apply.
**All the burden of scheduling it and contacting other players to send to the TD the explicit and private Ok should fall on the shoulders of the player asking for the replay.
**If everyone agrees and the game is played, the new result stands, no matter what. If there are problems in scheduling it in time the old result stands. If the game is scheduled with the agreement of all and there is a no-show, the new game is played and the result stands.
**Repeated games cannot be re-repeated

MC is done and over. We had some difficulties and let's hope we can make the rules and organisation better in future. However the winner really deserved his title by dominating the games in semi-finals and playing awesome game from the beginning. The title was open for several players before last 5er, but the champ showed his strenght in the tight spot, so...

Congratulations Volleytom for winning the MC 09 title

The results for finals:

4ers:
Goscha 120 - Val 113 - Volleytom 101 - U 31 93
Val 124 - U 31 111 - ommie 110 - Goscha 109
Val 126 - U 31 111 - Volleytom 103 - ommie 102
ommie 125 - Val 106 - Volleytom 74 - Goscha 64
Goscha 119 - ommie 119 - Volleytom 118 - U 31 66

5ers:
Goscha 113 - Volleytom 111 - U 31 109 - Val 106 - ommie 100
Volleytom 118 - U 31 109 - Goscha 104 - Val 102 - ommie 70
Volleytom 116 - U 31 113 - Val 101 - ommie 90 - Goscha 85

Points and ranks:

Volleytom 31
