Ditto - great work and it looks like an excellent campaign. I'd love to play it but would appreciate an English translation. Rolling Eyes

I do know a little French but, that is a bit secondary school english, I can barely say: Vous parlez anglais? Very Happy (Do you speak English?) So I would be glad if someone could translate this, then I would certainly play this!

Wow, this really looks great! Lots of background info, too. Ah, and yes, an english translation would help to read it Smile

I must come back and try to decipher this, The Petsamo Nikel bit should be particularly interesting, though the Finns were vastly out gunned from what I could previously find out.

Very Happy Fantastic news and thanks to all concerned! This really does look to be an excellent addition to the growing range of campaigns. I don't think my family are going to see much of me during the Christmas holidays!! Laughing

Oh, dammit! I just forgot, that I can't speak french properly... (luckily, the Romanian helps me very much, although it isn't my mother tongue...). I'll try to do my best, but if you really want a good translation, then find someone who talks both languages without any problems...

Btw, the Hungarian community grows as well! Watch for updates...

Apologies, I can read and translate from French, but I can't talk in French.

I just had some projects on the Hungarian Memoir page, and suddenly I thought that I will have to translate the campaign from English to Hungarian... sorry, it was a huge mistake, and it was around 22:00 when I got this message to translate the campaign... I was tired.

So, apologies again, but you may count on seeing this campaign in English very soon.

Well, I don't know about Nemsszili, but I've found it's actually a very useful ability. To forget that you don't speak a language. On holidy a year or so, I forgot that I couldn't speak German. Managed to blag my way on to a train (have missed my own train), and only when we sat down did my wife point out that I hadn't used a single verb, or created a single grammatically accurate sentence.

Well, you see, that forgetting not speaking languages IS a good ability... you were still able to catch a train! Laughing

In my situation, apologies again, I will use a translator, then I'll fine tune the text.

Re:Carlit's Campaign Thu, 26 November 2009 14:19
Me and my wife was on Interrail in Slovenia a couple of years ago and we had to change trains in the middle of nowhere.

And no one on that platform spoke a word of english, so we had a conversation consiting only of nods of the head, shakes of the head, Zagreb and "Choo Choo" sounds.

We eventually got to Zagreb ok after being told by the man on the platform: "Choo Choo, Zagreb!" and then he gently pushed us onto the train.

But the language of attraction and love are the most universal... They seem to transcend language, religion, politics and tradition.

Re:Carlit's Campaign Fri, 27 November 2009 13:44
From my days in the Royal Navy I have a pocket size phrase book that can be used in every country in the world.

Its like a pack of cards, but narrower and longer than playing cards. They have a tag through one corner.

Cards have pictures of objects and situations grouped by card.

One card might have pictures of transport, car, bus, train, etc

There is a card with pictures of ailments and injuries, so you can point to a headache or a sore throat to get some medicine.

Another card has pictures of food and another of animals, so you could point to a picture of a sandwich and a cow to get a beef sandwich.

I have successfully eaten and navigated my way around most of the globe with their help. Very Happy
