Best army pack

I was wondering what is the best army pack to buy at the moment. looked at the rules of them, but can´t really make up my mind to be honest. they all seem to have some fun extra´s in them.
At the moment I have M44, terrain pack and desert/winter board. Was thinking about buying one army pack and the airpack.
any comment would be appreciated.

Right now I like the Eastern Front army pack best.
But I have and enjoy Pacific and Mediterranean too.

There have been several threads along this line before. The two favorites consistently have been Eastern and Pacific.
My favorite is Pacific, because I love the special Marine and Japanese rules. Some of my favorite scenarios are in there, too.
The Russian command rules are more challenging, in the sense that they impose restrictions on the Russians.
Med Pack has some really creative scenarios, but also a couple of whoever-gets-the-assault-card-wins scenarios. On the other hand, if you love tank battles, it's loaded with 'em. The special British and Italian national rules are much less impactful than the Marines, Japanese, or Russians.

I personally like all three, they are kind of like moods...
But if I had to rank them:
1, Eastern Front
2. Pacific Theater
3. Mediterranean Theater

The Eastern Front army pack! I recommend it because then you can enjoy the Eastern Front scenarios of the Campaign Book, which is a must have.

I agree with Panzerrunes. The only disappointment I have is with the Med pack. The troops look nothing like the desert rats.

Well, I have played Med. and Eastern the most, haven't had any experience with caves yet ( ) I know it is a shame though. However, I think all three are in their own way good, as pointed out earlier in this thread. Nevertheless, I still prefer the Eastern Front, it just adds something when those T-34's are storming the German lines...

The British helmets are a real sore spot for me (I can only imagine how the UK guys feel).
One would think an art director or person authorizing the production for a WWII troop type might check a book or two on WWII uniforms to verify some sort of historical accuracy... I can overlook the extra road wheels of the crusader tanks but not having some semblance of a Brit helmet is beyond me... Might as well take away the English accent as well. The figures really do look more like Italian desert troops... Otherwise I found the expansion to be very enjoyable.

Not really. I was a combat photographer in the Navy and everything went digital and computerised.
Always been interested in computers since I first wrote programmes for my Sinclair Spectrum in "basic", as a hobby.
It was a bigger surprise getting a job at a football club as I used to hate sport!!!!!

With your current sets I would say go with the Eastern Front pack.
Lots of new terrain pieces, a challenging command rule for the Soviets (at least in early war scenarios) and, of course, T-34 TANKS!

More tank battles in the Mediterranean pack, but tremendous room for scenario design onm the Eastern Front, and besides, T-34 TANKS!
Ahem.
Just my two cents...

Yep, I made my choise. Reading the rules from the three army packs it will be Pacific theater. Reason is that the med theater seems less interesting of the 3. Since I play this game most of the time with my girlfriend, and she doesn´t really like tankbattles it wont be the eastern theater. Also for the eastern theater the commissar rule doesnt seem so interesting to us for now.
And then second will be the air pack. makes memoir bit more complex, but more complete.
maybe in the future eastern theater will follow, but don´t know yet when. but that expansion is next on the list.

The Japanese are fun to play, especially in scenarios involving caves. Check my user page for a lot of Pacific Theater scenarios and two Pacific Campaigns. Just click on the box that says User Page by my post to get there. Have fun, (most important)

Pacific Theater is a great expansion.
The Japanese are tuff at full strength and the marines are hard chargers.

If you're looking toward Air Pack, you might want to get Terrain Pack first. Air Pack adds features like roads to a lot of scenarios, and "TP" lets you take full advantage.

I already have the terrain pack. That is why I want to buy the air pack. Air pack doesnt look very easy in the beginning, but after a while when you learn to play with it, it seems one of most fun expansions available to me.
