Stalingrad problem, heeeelppp please

Hi mates
usuign the commisar rule, it happended twice in one came that cards playced under the commisar were no longer playbable. what happeds to them? are they played back in the hand or discardsed (unused- which is really harsh)
help please

This is the thing that I like about the Russian command rule.
Things can change, and cards can be useless, or the situation can improve for you.
In your case they are discarded. It is harsh, but reflects why the commisars was abandoned after Stalingrad.

This is the thing that I like about the Russian command rule.
Things can change, and cards can be useless, or the situation can improve for you.
In your case they are discarded. It is harsh, but reflects why the commisars was abandoned after Stalingrad.

OK poor Russian is screwed..  ((((
the commisar rule is still uised in Tigers in the snow rightr? and that was 1945 right?
or do I have that wrong?

The double command system for the Russians(Command rule) was abandoned after Stalingrad. (Around october 1942 I think) so no scenarios that are set after this date uses the command rule.
This page on Wikipedia gives a bit more information.
Political commissar
A political commissar was a high-ranking functionary at a military headquarters who held coequal rank and authority with the military commander of the unit. Political commissars were established to control the military forces by the Communist party. No military order might be issued which did not have the prior approval of both the commander and the commissar.
Although lower-level political officers never received the same military training as commanding officers, most commissars were high-ranking party bosses and never had any military training or talent.
Following the disasters of 1942, the political command was abolished. Political officers only survived at the regimental level, in the form of a Deputy for Political Matters, and at the front (Soviet military jargon for an army) level, where they formed the Military Councils with respective military commanders.

it's particularly interesting with some of the "special" cards- something like a close assault. An extra-powerful card suddenly just becomes burning a card to freshen up the hand.
Annoying, but nowhere near as bad as seeing your men slaughtered due to political bureacracy I should imagine.

I don't believe Tigers in the Snow lists the rule, so they are not in effect.
