Expansions in the US store Wed, 13 January 2010 02:01
Any update on when the expansions become available again in the US store? They've been out of print for some time now ... Sad

We're totally sold out, unfortunately. But you should still be able to find some at your local game store, with any luck though.

The Cursed expansion is pretty much sold out everywhere (even amazon, and ebay is very slim pickings). Is there any plans to get a 2nd printing released? (I would assume so given the obvious popularity and demand for these, but I wanted to make sure before I spent more than I would need to online).

There shipping is a little high for me. If DoW is printing more, than I have no problems waiting until that happens as there are several local game shops who I would rather have my money. But if there is not going to be a reprint or if it will be several months until the reprint, then I will have to bite the bullet and go to a place like thoughthammer.

makes sense, i got both expansions at the same time and the cost was $2 less than the local game store per expansion, so I thought the 5 dollars shipping was worth it.

The problem is it was $9 shipping according to their website unless I misread their shipping policy (If it was $5 the expansion would be on its way to me right now Very Happy .)

$10 from the local store x 2 (Both expansions)
$8 per expansion from thoughthammer (that was last week, seems they've uped it to 8.50 now) which was $2 less per game ($4 total cheaper) which when subtracted from the cost of shipping ($9) gave me the $5 for shipping. Sorry, I wasn't too clear on the math Smile

Already got the great dames though so I only need cursed so the shipping cost again is not worth it. Especially if they are making more (hey Days of Wonder any indication of this would be cool)

Sorry, just saw your post. There are no plans to reprint the expansions (which you fortunately should still be able to find at your local game store or online).

www.boardsandbits.com

They still have both expansions for approximately $6.99. Shipping is like $8, so I think my whole order was $24ish...

Also get Leaders of Smallworld from BGG Store for $3.50 with Free Shipping!!

Ah Ssa!

My brother and I went to our game shop shortly after Christmas and picked up Small World. We have played it before and knew about the expansions, but were sad to see that they were sold out. We got in line and waited until a week ago before we found out they were out of print! I've looked everywhere (online and off) and can't find these expansions! Now every time we play it just makes us want them more.

Please, if you have any you can sell, or if you can direct me to a retailer that still has them in stock I would greatly appreciate it.

PS: I don't understand why you would stop printing them, please if you could tell me it would at least make me feel better.

I think these expansion are becoming next to impossible to find. I have them and I would have to say that that they are must have expansions. You definitely want Gypsies and Kobolds. However, I don't know where you can possibly find them.

You might have to wait until Tales and Legends of Small World comes out this summer and see if they get reprinted then.

Yeah I agree with everyone these are impossible to find, I have only been able to find them for $34 each which is extortion. Please reprint these, or at least point me in a the direction of someone that is still selling them for a reasonable price.

Thanks.

Keep your ear to the ground for these on web game stores. My friend just found a copy of each expansion on a web store a few weeks ago for a normal price. Smile

I just managed to find a copy of Cursed! for sale. Well, I ordered it, anyway. Now, let's see if they actually end up sending me a copy. It wasn't easy to find though.

I think the only place you will find the expansions are on web sites so poorly constructed that searching is nearly impossible (and hence no one has found them yet).

Oh! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I just ordered both. It looks like I got the last copy of Cursed! and someone else got the last Great Dames just after me. I can't tell you how appreciative I am.

As I mentioned above, I managed to locate a copy of Cursed! but wasn't sure they actually had it. Well I received notice that they do.

It looks like the same store may have other copies (and maybe the Grand Dames expansion as well, but its hard to tell).

Here is the website, although it doesn't seem to be working properly. However, there is a phone # and email at the top.

Good luck

That's really weird, at that same site I found Grand Dames but not cursed. I emailed the seller to see if they actually did have any but at least I got one Smile Thanks for the suggestion.

Re:Expansions in the US store Fri, 09 April 2010 19:28
Wow. This news is hugely disappointing. My local flgs was sold out in less than a week and I didn't have the opportunity to pick up either expansion.

It would have been nice if you had actually posted here on your website that the expansions were going to be limited to 1 print run and no further print runs would occur.

What are new purchasers of the game supposed to do now? All they will ever get to play is the base game. Somehow this just doesn't seem right. Someone I know actually bought this game, after playing my copy, under the impression that the expansions would be re-printed.

I really enjoy Small World and own pretty much everything Memoir '44, but I am shocked that some loyal customers are being tossed to the wind with this news.

I totally agree. My entire family is now hooked on Small World. It is one of those rare games (like Ticket Ride) that everyone enjoys playing.

Of course, the kids asked if there were any expansions as they wanted more races! I said, of course, I'd be glad to order the expansions for them, especially the Grand Dames for my daughter's benefit... Well.... I guess not after all. Crying or Very Sad

Sorry, I have looked at stores throughout the Baltimore and Pittsburgh city areas. I have also looked on-line at five different e-stores. No luck.

So the expansions are not available in the U.S.
Will there be a reprint?

Thank you.

I can't find these expansions any where. Every time I see a link that says they have them I click to find out they're sold out. Ugh.

Hope I can get these expansions without paying Ebay's ridiculously barbaric rip off of $39.99 each. Strongly believe many people need the reprint. Well, looking forward to hear the good news Smile.

I just discovered Small World, and love it! Can't wait to play with my family (who have been Cataan addicts for two years now). I can't find the expansions anywhere, but would definitely be at the front of the line if reprints were offered this summer!
