Game session: Operation Luttich Wed, 14 April 2010 18:17
Hey gang,
I am new to memoir '44 and really hooked. I have played two straight weekends now with long game sessions each time. Something keeps drawing me back in. I love the flavor and feel of the game. It has great pace and brings a smile to my face each time the board is set up and the battle begins, as if my inner child is beaming: "i get to push around all these tiny soldiers and tanks, woohoo!"

I would like to share with you a game session that was really fun!

Perhaps one of the most fun gams of memoir I have ever played. it was late in the game and i was losing badly 3 to 1. My forces had been weakened through multiple air strikes from Hill 317. Both players felt it was purely a matter of time before the allies dispatched with my germans. Suffice it to say NEITHER of us saw this coming. I played direct from HQ and moved my 4 battered tank units into position. 2 to fire onto HIll 317 where a single unit still presided and two to fire onto a double unit on the hill adjacent to St. Barthelmy. I take Hill 317 on my first roll. No need to use my second armor there as there are now no targets. My third tank unit misses badly. my finally unit scores the hits necassary to take the VP and the Hill using armor overun, my opponents feels like i will probably make my second attack on his artillery. I instead roll 3 dice against a double unit just beyond the hedgerow. Two hits, game over 4-3 Axis. great Great Fun! We were both Stunned as we felt there was no way for the Axis to win this particular battle, needless to say my opponents Jaw hit the floor! Had I not rolled so well I was sure to lose on the next turn.

Thanks for listening!

Hi Robinson29

Welcome to the forum! You will find it contains a lot of friendly folks, that love the game.

Your session sounds like a really exciting moment, and it is very fun to be the side that gets those rolls. Laughing
But of course, the official version is that you held on to the Direct from HQ card and only unleashed it when the Allies had let their guard down. The superior strategy clearly won the game for you! Very Happy

If you get any questions about the game, be sure to ask as there are lots of folks here that helps you out.

Good luck with future Memoir scenarios!

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Memoir '44.

Perhaps sometime down the road you would like to join my Memoir '44 King of the Hill Ladder group. This is a great way to play players from all over the world via live Vassal play.

If you would like more info, you can post here.
