Sound?

Probably a dumb question, but I'm having problems with my sound card at the moment:
Is there supposed to be any sound ingame?

I'm guessing there is no sound yet because I've turned up my volume and I can still only hear the sound effects I'm making,

Yes, it would be good to hear the rat-a-tat-tat as the guns are fired. I know that to some it may seem a bit morose. But for those of us who still feel like we are twelve year old boys, it would be a blast.

It would be more morbid if you wanted to hear the groans and screams of the dying men!  
Maybe the sound will be a quiet running narrative by the computer, kind of like a sportscaster who is reporting on a golf tournament...

Thanks for the color commentary Ras. I liked the hushed tones of the announcers, so that they wouldn't disturb the armor loaders as the teed up for the big shot.

Almost as bad as playing in goal and letting the ball slip through your fingers in a soccer World Cup qualifying match, only to watch it trickle agonisingly over the line to tie up a game you were odds-on to win, and then wonder why you didn't get your body fully behind the ball. That was painful to watch and he definitely should have saved it...shooting at the goal keeper should not result in a goal during the World Cup!! 
Just so long as the keeper isn't so angry with himself that he doesn't perform well in the future games, England should do pretty well! 
I think the USA will have to get some more lucky shots, if they want to keep going...!
