Meanings of Rankings and Scoring

Lot's of fun so far, plan to get a review out shortly of my experience to date.
I do have a couple of things I have yet to understand...
I'm not sure I follow some of the information on the screens. Like 'Outperformed' on the Officer Career screen. At first I thought it meant how many games I was outplayed in (like losses) but then realized that is incorrect and now think it has more to do with how many games I've preformed better than the medal average. What does 'Outperformed' mean?
The Service Records screen shows thumbs up or down. I see that I have defeated a player by a score of 4-1 for example at Mont Mouchet (as the Axis) so I get the happy face and a thumbs down. Why a thumbs down?

Thanks, you spared me a post, was looking here to start a very similar thread, cause I don't fully understand what these stats mean either.

Along the same lines I'm eager to find out what the Commander Skills section is going to be. Currently the screen is blank but I assume it will be filled with stats about my playing skills...

Yes, this is one of the parameters taking into account (along with others, such as your relative strength compared to your opponent, the number of medals you got and your opponent received compared to the average expected number for each camp, etc..)
We will post some more explanations on this when we find the time.
