How to report a bug? Sun, 06 June 2010 21:03
Attention Officer!

Please follow the following procedure to report a bug to HQ:

1) Indicate your system configuration: type of computer (Mac or PC), hardware configuration (CPU, RAM, and especially details about your video board!), software configuration (version of operating system, version of Java, version of OpenGL and video driver, etc.).

2) Specify the type of game you were playing (Solo, Normal or Expert), the time (don't forget to tell your time zone), and the name of your opponent.

3) Describe the problem in as much details as possible. Steps to reproduce it are great help for us. Screenshots are great too!

4) Attach your session log file to your report:

- On Windows, open the "log" folder located inside the "Memoir '44 Online" folder inside your "C:\Program Files" folder.
On MacOS X, you need to do a right-click (or Control-click) on the application icon, and select "Show Package Content". This opens a new Finder window. Then you have to dig tediously in "Contents" -> "Resources" -> "app" -> "log".
- Logs have names that start by "run-", followed by the date and time of your session. If the problem happened in your last game, sort files by dates and take the most recent one.
- Compress the log file into a ZIP file.
- Attach it to your report.

Then send your complete report using the communication channel that was transmitted to you during your enrollment.

It is usually a good idea to report a problem right away, while it is still fresh in your mind and that you can grab the log file easily. If you keep playing, the log file will keep growing, and it will become really difficult for us to find where the problem happened.

Thanks for your help!

HI Yann

It would be great if you could send out a mail with the setup you would like the reports in. That way we could just cut and paste that and fill it in.

And you would get all reports in the same format.

To better explain it see how this user(Pete Belli) did it on boardgamegeek.com for his playtesters.

I had some trouble too, but I was able to log in with my DoW login and password. My problem was that the game hadn't been added to my online features yet, so you might be having a similar problem.

Good luck!! Very Happy

There is a bug: if your Login Name have some international characters, then login won't work. Remove the ÷ in your login name. Sorry about this.

Doesn't work...
I've tried with a normal "o" or without it.
What else could I (or you) do ?

Just a shot in the dark here.

Did you change your username here on DOW and not only in the program? It still shows the ÷.

That might get the program working, or is the program linked to the ÷ username and you need to get another invite to make it work?

As ad79 said, you need to change your login name in your DoW Online Account profile. Go to http://www.daysofwonder.com/en/myprofile/

Will this always be the case (i.e. no umlauts or any other type of symbols - i.e English letters) or not? If so, might want to record this above when the grand release is done.

Of course not, it's a bug. And therefore it will be fixed.

While it's not quite a bug worth reporting, I thought I might mention that on the Service Records section, I can't see more than the latest 20 games I've played. The 'next' arrows don't work.

Sure it's a bug, so send a report Twisted Evil

Thanks! Very Happy
