Wishlist for future updates Sat, 10 July 2010 15:11
Okay okay so I know 1.0 just got released and I'm loving it. (I've already played at least two dozen games against the AI)

But, what can I say I want more!!! Smile. This app is totally worth the price asking, but this would be my wish list for future features. I know some of these have been mentioned before, but I thought it might be useful to have them all in one place (I'm also open to beta testing any new features Razz)

- more than two players
Unfortunately, for the programmers, this means new maps with less area per square to work with, but the strategies change a bit with more than two players (and perhaps my wife will feel less ganged up on as a result Twisted Evil )

- multiple bots with different strategies
This kind of ties in to the above. In my multitude of plays I've taken some very different approaches to Smallworld some with better success than others and the approach is often dictated by the combinations that come up. This is likely not an easy task, but would be greatly appreciated.

- stronger AI
I'm not complaining about the current AI, and perhaps this is not so much a request for stronger AI as it is a refinement of the above point. I've been successful against the current AI almost every time so some way to make it better would be good for stronger players. I haven't quite pinpointed why I seem to almost always win against the AI yet, but to be honest I haven't really thought too hard about it yet (still loving just playing it), if you'd like my thoughts on ways to improve it let me know and I'll do some thinking, Again you guys are the pros so I'll leave it to you unless asked.

- all the expansions
What can I say? More races, more combos, more fun! I've also been meaning to go out and buy Tales and Legends for the physical board game, but this could be a great way to "try before you buy". This could be an in app purchase, although I'm not sure I'd want to buy each expansion separately, but you folks know the market on these things better than I do.

- networking games
Wow, I'm not asking for much am I? I'd love to take on some new people from around the world. I know us Canucks are supposed to be peace lovers, but when it comes to Smallworld I want to take over the world (but hey isn't that the point of the game?)

- highscore lists or a ranking system
A local one to taunt my wife and push me to better scores. A global one should the previous one come into play or for me to brag about my conquering powers. You could even use the combos in the game for the rankings, perhaps based on gameplay style. Eg.) I just moved from being a berserk elf (lucky on the die rolls and using minimal races per game) to a peace-loving sorcerer (typically attacking empty squares vs occupied ones and always looking for conversions)

When I think of more I'll update this list. All and all a five star game! This is a must have for everyone with an iPad and a reason to buy an iPad if you are a gamer. I can't wait for more Days of Wonder games on the iOS and more updates from this one. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind words and numerous suggestions.

We will try and keep up with some, if not all, of them. Cool

Oh yes... An undo button. Obviously it should not undo the result of a die roll or perhaps can but marks the score as a cheat or something like that. I've accidentally claimed the wrong territory before using up way too many guys and hate losing by a simple mistake.

Just gonna chime in and support the two most important and maybe easy to add features that my friends and I would love to see, which is statistic tracking / achievements to allow us to see who holds the record for most coins in a round, most units on the map, etc., as well as an undo feature for minor glitches like placing units on the wrong area as a result of a slip of the finger on the ipad.

LOVE this game...did a 5 hour straight session against the AI without even noticing the time go by (which happens to be what prompted my desire to see statistics to compare myself to the AI!)

Please, you really need to add the option for additional players. I'd be happy to pay for each of the maps (3-player, 4-player, etc). Whether or not you add bot options for 3+players, simply the opportunity to be able to play against more than one friend at a time would make it totally worth it. Have the boardgame, but only have the time to play the iPad version (play at restaurants with friends), so it sucks not being able to get the same experience out of the iPad as I can get with the boardgame. Thanks for the great game.

Hi,

one thing bugs me since I first baught that game in May

The German Menu theys: Das Brettspmiel
Correct would be: Das Brettspiel
without the "m"

Other than that I'm totaly for more players (even as buy in app) and more expansions. There are allready three offline expansions to add (Tales and Legends, Be not afraid, Leaders).
