Yes, we have (considered releasing our Online games on Steam).
Frankly part of the issue is getting the powers that be there to return our calls, though. I guess they're busy with their new Mac version.
This being said, if you know someone (or even just want to mention our name on their forums) please feel free to do so and let us know

I would like to put myself in OverCharged's corner here and say that STEAM is a great venue.
STEAM automatically updates your games, keeps all your purchases on record so you can un-install or re-install as you like and overall provides very good support.
If something clicked between DoW and Steam, that would be great.

For those who havent heard of STEAM it is the largest online gaming distribution system in the world at the moment. STEAM is a way to get yourself put on the front page for a day or 2 of a mass younger generation market.
Looking forward to open beta.
made that post on the STEAM forums for ya

Sounds interesting. I had never heard of STEAM but it looks interesting, thanks for sharing. I can see the appeal of having such a large audience for a game like this!
Do you know, would DoW have to only sell the games through STEAM or could they do a system that uses both their own web site and the STEAM web site?

Ras, it seems Steam has their own interface to use with all the various programs there. So my guess is that there would need to be some tweaks to the current programs to use them on Steam. How much of tweaks I can only guess.

I'm going to take the opposite track, and mention that I abjectly despise Steam.
I agree that it opens up a larger audience and greater exposure, plus the Steam client has nice benefits.
But on a customer support, technical, and privacy side, Steam is horrid.
Run a packet sniffer on your Steam account in "offline" mode and watch how much information that Steam "collects" on you while you are "offline."
Throw in the added "feature" that Steam occasionally breaks/crashes games because the Steam client needs to update and you are just asking for a headache.
Lastly, DOW folks trust me on this one...Steam support is so bad that when Steam breaks Memoir '44 Online, it will ALWAYS be DOW's fault. I have a couple Sega games through Steam and I get better support on fixing Steam Client issues from the Sega help desk than Steam.
Last time I had a Steam account issue that had to be fixed by Valve (because Sega could not help) I ended up having to get my credit card company's legal department involved and threatening to sue Valve for fraud before I received a response.
So yeah, it has some benefits, make sure you understand the risks.
