Operation Open Beta targeted for November	Tue, 28 September 2010 18:10

Great question, Vulch! My understanding from a while back was that more players would be added to the Beta pool but that the system wasn't yet ready to handle everyone. DoW has some magical programers working on this project so it's possible they're at a point where they can open the game to everyone...but I'm guessing it will still be somewhat limited. My guess is that they have some users they are planning to enroll into Operation Open Beta as that will give them better control over the workload they will be getting once Operation Open Beta starts. But just my guess and as Jesse said, a good question for the DOW team to answer. [Report message to a moderator]

I am of course (with no thought for my own safety), volunteering for this arduous and dangerous mission.

I have completed my "next of kin" form and had a complete set of innoculations (for meeting Johnny Foreigner).

My Stiff Upper Lip has been specially waxed and I have ironed creases in my shorts.

Open Beta is intended to mean Open to everyone - well at least anyone that agrees to abide by the terms and limitations of the Open Beta program, which we'll post when we're ready.

That being said, we will have to see how well our servers - and code - handle the load. But for now at least, the plan is to let anyone interested and willing in.

More news once we get closer - we aren't quite there yet and still have a lot on our plate before then. Rolling Eyes

Not to state the obvious, but it would seem that this thread should maybe be sticky - like the announcement for the first beta in June was... I know there isn't a lot of activity in this forum but I suspect that might change in the coming weeks. Cab [Report message to a moderator]

Oh Happy Day!!! I can't wait to try this out. I've been playing another game, Dungeon Twister, online and have met many great people all over the world. Been looking forward to this for a long time, glad to hear progress is being made. I just want to say thanks to everyone who is making this possible, from the dev team to the play-testers, and of course, DoW staff in general. w00t!! Sign me up when the public beta begins for sure. I lost my playing partner some time ago and have not played in quite a while, though I try to keep up with the new product releases and game related news as often as I can.
