If you're ever back in Pittsburgh visiting relatives look me up for a game. I live in Cranberry Twp. Yeah, the Steelers look pretty good this year. They seem to travel well too. There are a lot of fans on away games cheering them on. By the way, hockey starts this week and I hear the new Consol Energy Center is terrific. Keep in touch.

Very expensive place to get M44 expansions shipped to, the freight is normally much more than the expansion.

Wow - a lot of players posted here (including my self).
I thought it might be a good place to try and recruit a few more players (or a whole bunch) for the Memoir '44 Yahoo Ladder group I run.
To date we have completed 15 rounds of play and are about 3 weeks away from starting round 17 (with 16 currently being in progress). We have over 20 players on the ladder, but would gladly welcome more.
We use Vassal(as to Vassal, as some point in time we will probably switch to the Mem '44 online play sometime after it is ready to go) to play live online matches with ladder players matched up according to their current position on the ladder (2 games of a preselected round scenario with each player playing once from each side).
The objective is to have fun and perhaps to climb to the top position of the ladder and once there, stay there. Our former King -- Sam1812 -- reigned for jaw-dropping 5 rounds.
We have players of all skill levels. Our list of players includes 4 WBC Memoir '44 champions (including champs from '08, '09 and '10).
The best part of all this is that it is free -- you cannot beat that.

Hey Pomakli, I will be visiting your fine town of Colombo in mid-November (on the 12th). We fly into Colombo but then head right over to Dambulla and then continue on a nice little tour of Southern Sri Lanka.
Any advice of things we shouldn't miss while we're there?

I am a school teacher...but I've never been in the military. My grandpa was a glider pilot in World War II, but that's as close as I've come!
I teach 5th grade and until recently I was a teacher in Oregon. However, my wife and I recently moved to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and we'll be teaching here for the next two years. After these two years we'll see where we end up!
Until playing Memoir '44 I wasn't even all that interested in history (well, I thought it was interesting but never knew that much about World War II and didn't have any motivation to learn more about it). After playing Memoir '44 I started to research World War II and started to teach that part of history to my students through an after-school Memoir '44 club. I've now learned more about WWII than I ever expected to learn!!

Good to see another Kiwi player out there. Im in Auckland. If you want M44 products check out Urban Games. He used to be in Akld but has moved down your way.

That's what happens if you play M44 for long. I have 19 documentaries and about 41 movies about WWII. I have a collection of books too. The latest (and the one I am reading now) is about the war in Russia. I have been interested in history since I started collecting stamps (in the 80's), but was not that interested in WWII. If you are into this game for long, it will happen!
