To: All Volunteers for Operation Open Beta

Our weather and radar stations off the coast have just informed us that a window of favorable weather is likely to open the week of November 15-19. Barring any last minute move of enemy troops, commandos wishing to enroll in Operation Open Beta should clear their schedule for that week and prepare for the start of operations. More information will follow in the coming weeks...

Our recon planes and long range scouts report a massive build-up of hostile troops on all fronts! Radio chatter has increased in recent hours and code breakers report a probable offensive is planned...weather forecasts show that Mid-November may allow for a full assault. In light of this intelligence, all passes surrounding November 15-19 are revoked and training maneuvers are planned throughout early November.

Prepare yourselves because once the perimeter is breached we will be overrun and it will be each man for himself. If you haven't already done so, sign up for hazard pay in the pavilion by the landing strip...it has been a pleasure serving with each of you. Good luck and God bless!

For those of us stationed in the far flung regions which timezone is the attack to begin in? Europe or US (and which timezone within those regions?)

While this may seem to be pedantic this does make a difference as my timezone is UTC + 13 at present.

I'm sorry, Phread, but us closed beta testers voted that no one from UTC +13 should be let in, so for you the operation will start..... NEVER!

Sorry, just found that funny to say. I don't know what time of day the operation will start, but most likely in the morning US time, as that is when the programmers are working, I think.

Looking forward to seeing more people online.

I'm not sure I understand your question but I'll answer what I think you're asking. Smile You don't have to do anything special to register for the coming beta version. With the account you have right now you'll be able to sign up for a free trial and download the game to play!

Cool I look forward to meeting you on the battle field!! Sadly I realized the other day that I'll be on vacation in Sri Lanka during the week that Memoir '44 Open Beta is scheduled to launch so I'll miss the opening days of the battle.

I'll join everyone online as soon as I'm able to, don't you worry! There are many other beta testers out there who will be more than happy to show new players how the online game works and I'm sure DoW will provide an excellent tutorial as well. Smile

As a side note, if you guys are anything like us beta testers you'll dive into battle head first without reading the tutorial... Very Happy I would advise everyone to actually study the document before playing because it will save you (and the people who will have to answer all of the questions) lots of time and headache! Laughing

We'll have to see if the tutorial is ready and if any of the team members are available to post it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are already planning to have this available before Open Beta launches! Very Happy

i played 3 days last week, like 5.5 scenarios, and still barely scratched the memoir itch.

The weather is good...the plan is still on as far as I've heard. Just to remind everyone, in Eric's initial post he said the "week of November 15-19" so it could be any time during those days.

Obviously players (and I'm sure DoW staff) are hoping for early next week, but it could end up being later in the week since he didn't say any specific day. Cool It looks like people are assuming they'll get to start the world-wide battles on Monday but Memoir '44 Online could launch on Friday and still be in Eric's timeframe.

Actually I thought of the exact same comparison! Laughing It would have been even more perfect if I still used the Rommel picture for my Profile Pic. Very Happy
